Owner description: Georgia Aquarium is the world's most magical aquarium. Situated near Centennial Olympic Park and World of Coca-Cola in downtown Atlanta,Georgia, Georgia Aquarium offers its guests an experience like no other. Across six separate galleries, with more than 70 amazing habitats, 10 million gallons of water and thousands of species of marine animals, guests will marvel at, learn about and come to better understand such majestic aquatic animals as whale sharks, manta rays, dolphins, beluga whales, sea otters, African penguins and thousands of species of exotic fish and other animals. The spectacular AT&T Dolphin Tales show combines incredible natural animal behaviors with dynamic theatrics, a Broadway-inspired musical score and a compelling story, which together underscore the connection between humans and the animal world. The animated "Deepo's Undersea 3D Wondershow," for all ages, tells an entertaining but important story about conserving and protecting animals and their natural environment. Cafe Aquaria offers delicious sandwiches, salads, pizza, pasta and delectable desserts. Two gift shops give visitors the chance to take home a treasured collectible. Special animal encounter programs offer the chance to go behind the scenes and come face-to-face with dolphins, sea otters and penguins. Guests can even swim or dive with whale sharks and manta rays in the world's largest aquarium habitat (at 6.3 Million gallons), Ocean Voyager built by the Home Depot. And an onsite parking deck immediately adjacent to the aquarium means quick, easy-to-find and affordable parking.

We've been to some nice aquariums around the country. I think this one is right up there with the best if not the best. Plan your trip carefully if you want to catch the dolphin show. We missed it but they gave us a small discount on our ticket because of it.

We were on a long layover and didn't really know what to do in Atlanta. We heard about the aquarium and we all agreed to go and that it would be fun. This was the best aquarium!! Literally you have sea creatures swimming over your head at some points! Loved the design and it was a great time.

We visited the world's largest aquarium on a Saturday afternoon after touring CNN and The World of Coke. The line to buy tickets was long, long, long. I overheard people saying they had a timed spot to get in line with an additional wait time of at least 30 minutes. We walked up to an employee and said we had the City Pass. She directed us past the long line and we were able to go right into the aquarium! I would definitely recommend going here early in the day. The aquarium was packed. Our main goal was to walk through the Ocean Voyager exhibit. WOW! Navigating the crowds was worth it! You walk through the tunnel of a 6.3 million gallon tank. You are surrounded by shark, manta ray, whale sharks, and more fish than I could count. Even more amazing was standing in front of a gigantic acrylic viewing window and watching this amazing underwater world. The aquarium has a number of other exhibits including a coral reef, sea otters and beluga whales. The interactive exhibits were fun for all ages! We even witnessed a marriage proposal in front of the dolphin exhibit! You could easily spend the day here, but be prepared for the crowds.

We decided to visit the day before flying out from Atlanta, we saw long lines not knowing it was school vacation week for that area. I asked a male staff member at the end of the line about the advanced ticket line as I wasn't sure if the line was to buy tickets for the next day or for those who already had tickets. He jumped all over me and acted like I was trying to cut the line. I made it clear that I just wanted info on how to get a ticket. He said I could do it online but not to bother as there was probably too many people online. We ended up getting tickets from our hotel Hilton Garden Inn where the front desk staff was gracious and helpful. It's a shame as the aquarium was very nice but he kind of spoiled the experience.

The online services and the ease of navigation on their website makes it so easy to get all tickets for whatever you want to see or do at the Aquarium, pay in advance for parking and know just what your schedule will be no matter what the crowds are that day. The staff is very helpful and friendly also. There is a great place for any age and also a great place for some unique picture if you are like me and chronicle your trips with photo books.
