Owner description: Georgia Aquarium is the world's most magical aquarium. Situated near Centennial Olympic Park and World of Coca-Cola in downtown Atlanta,Georgia, Georgia Aquarium offers its guests an experience like no other. Across six separate galleries, with more than 70 amazing habitats, 10 million gallons of water and thousands of species of marine animals, guests will marvel at, learn about and come to better understand such majestic aquatic animals as whale sharks, manta rays, dolphins, beluga whales, sea otters, African penguins and thousands of species of exotic fish and other animals. The spectacular AT&T Dolphin Tales show combines incredible natural animal behaviors with dynamic theatrics, a Broadway-inspired musical score and a compelling story, which together underscore the connection between humans and the animal world. The animated "Deepo's Undersea 3D Wondershow," for all ages, tells an entertaining but important story about conserving and protecting animals and their natural environment. Cafe Aquaria offers delicious sandwiches, salads, pizza, pasta and delectable desserts. Two gift shops give visitors the chance to take home a treasured collectible. Special animal encounter programs offer the chance to go behind the scenes and come face-to-face with dolphins, sea otters and penguins. Guests can even swim or dive with whale sharks and manta rays in the world's largest aquarium habitat (at 6.3 Million gallons), Ocean Voyager built by the Home Depot. And an onsite parking deck immediately adjacent to the aquarium means quick, easy-to-find and affordable parking.

Too many badly behaved children risked ruining this fantastic attraction, but the Whale sharks, rays and variety of other sharks and weird and wonderful fish save the day. Its a bit too disney, but the fish are fantastic especially the tunnel in the main tank which gives you a unique perspective on the creatures. The Dolphin tales show is a proper americana cheese fest, but the dolphins feats are worth the 20 mins of cheesey pain. You could easily spend all day there as theres so many amazing things to see. Highly recommended for both fish and non fish lovers. Reasonable value at $29 too.

My husband & I decided to take our son to the aquarium for the first time. He loved the beluga whales! We did the Dolphin Tales show so we could see the dolphins but did not realize that it was going to be so theatrical. The loud thunder scared my son that he spent most of the show sitting in my husband's lap hiding his head.
Be sure to eat before you go. We had to get lunch there. it cost over $30 for 1 piece of chicken, 1 cold & overcooked hamburger, cold fries and an overcooked hotdog with 2 drinks. I've had better food at the Quick Trip gas station than here. I wouldn't mind so much if they didn't rip you off with the pricing for crappy food.
Overall, eat before you go and be aware of the loudness of the theatrical Dolphin Tales show. We will go again because we love seeing the fish and animals!

Great family place with lots of informative information. I took my 2 kids that were amazed with all the different Aquatics. My parent loved it as well just sitting in complete amazement in total peace. Highly recommend to all!

We went here last year-super disapointed.

I recently read online the aquarium is fighting the denial of their permit to import Baluga whales from Russia.
Please DO NOT be fooled by the so called scientists(employed by the GA Aquarium) wanting the Balugas imported here!
Humans are not the best care for ANY WHALES!!
Watch Black Fish-also the Balugas need to BE RELEASED NOT held in captivity.
The GA Aquarium ONLY WANTS tourists $$.
That is all it is about "money greed-NEVER what really is better for these whales."
Please Americans EDUCATE yourself on whales!
They are HIGHLY intelligent and live with their families their entire lives.
Watch the movie the Cove.

Worth every penny! Go there even if you think you've seen all an aquarium can offer. The Ocean tank has 4 whale sharks and several large manta rays not to mention thousands of other fish! There are fresh and saltwater fish and habitats, feeding times to watch, and even sea otters that are very playful! Don't miss this place!
