Owner description: Georgia Aquarium is the world's most magical aquarium. Situated near Centennial Olympic Park and World of Coca-Cola in downtown Atlanta,Georgia, Georgia Aquarium offers its guests an experience like no other. Across six separate galleries, with more than 70 amazing habitats, 10 million gallons of water and thousands of species of marine animals, guests will marvel at, learn about and come to better understand such majestic aquatic animals as whale sharks, manta rays, dolphins, beluga whales, sea otters, African penguins and thousands of species of exotic fish and other animals. The spectacular AT&T Dolphin Tales show combines incredible natural animal behaviors with dynamic theatrics, a Broadway-inspired musical score and a compelling story, which together underscore the connection between humans and the animal world. The animated "Deepo's Undersea 3D Wondershow," for all ages, tells an entertaining but important story about conserving and protecting animals and their natural environment. Cafe Aquaria offers delicious sandwiches, salads, pizza, pasta and delectable desserts. Two gift shops give visitors the chance to take home a treasured collectible. Special animal encounter programs offer the chance to go behind the scenes and come face-to-face with dolphins, sea otters and penguins. Guests can even swim or dive with whale sharks and manta rays in the world's largest aquarium habitat (at 6.3 Million gallons), Ocean Voyager built by the Home Depot. And an onsite parking deck immediately adjacent to the aquarium means quick, easy-to-find and affordable parking.

“Great Aquarium, poor staff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Reviewed March 27, 2013

The aquarium was AWESOME!! I could spend hours watching the Beluga whales! The staff working the entry were rude! They were not happy in their work and were not interested in answering any questions! I know they see a lot of people everyday, but, being so irritated with paying customers has to hurt the Aquariums repeat business! They were rude to several people in the few minutes I was in line! Someone in authority should use the entry line anonymously. I think a few people would be looking for work!!!!

“The crowds need to be managed better.”
Reviewed March 26, 2013

The outdoor lines for tickets was complete chaos! The day we visited the temps were in the 30's and the lines outside were not easy to navigate. It was freezing and their were no greeters to direct people to correct lines. People were in frustrated as they waited in incorrect lines. Our ticket agent knew little about the packages you could purchase and gave us incorrect info.

As you enter aquarium only one person is available to hand out maps to the hundreds pushing themselves in. The aquarium is laid out in a circle with "pods" to walk in and out. Most did not have employees in pod to ask questions.

Cafe is total chaos with exceptionally long lines. There is only one line in which is dumb. They need to make more lines to enter for certain items of the cafe. Very expensive as well. Bag of chips were almost $3.00.

No free parking. Closest garage was $10 for 7 hours maximum.

All other reviews about dolphin show being cheesy is sooo true. The dolphin tricks are amazing but the goofy show is ridiculous and makes no sense. My kids even mentioned how stupid the show was. We didn't even understand it. A nice educational exhibit would be more appropriate.

“Georgia Aquarium”

Very nice aquarium. Loved seeing the whale sharks. I strongly recommend getting tickets before getting there. The lines to get in are very long. The dolphin show was nice but I would not pay extra to see it. My family and I took our time and saw everything comfortably in about 4 hours. Good half day excursion in Atlanta. The Whale sharks make it worth the admission.

“A must when in Atlanta”

Great exhibits but beware of crowds and noise during high seasons. Best value when combined with other attractions as there are heavy discounts for packages.

“Fantastic aquarium a must go vacation stop”
Reviewed March 26, 2013

Yes you will want a few hours to spend in here as there are many rooms and attractions to see.
The aquarium tunnel, the beluga whales and the touch and see stingrays are just a few. You can even have a group spend the night or reserve a shark tank dive. Also the Coca Cola museum is right across the court yard. Parking structure was right there with a little walk to the court yard.
We loved this aquarium and took many pictures. One of my favorites was in the darkened jellyfish room.
