“Want to go back asap.”

I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Rathbun's. The decor of the restaurant was delightful with an artsy twist to what I would say was rustic. The wine list was great. We all ordered beef dishes that were so flavorable and cooked to perfection. Our waiter was excellent. I do hope to return soon.

“Very upscale, pricey, but delicious!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2012

The food here was amazing! A friend and I ordered several small plates and shared them to be able to try a little of everything. Every single thing was phenomenal. We really liked the Fries with Bleu cheese Fondue and the Beef Carpaccio. There are also entrée offerings. The atmosphere is formal and the prices are $$$. There are “second mortgage plates” on the menu if that gives you any idea. Overall, the taste and quality of the food makes the expense worth it.

“Innovative and fresh!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2012 via mobile

We went to celebrate a business deal and were pleased with the choices in plate sizes. The menu features amazingly fresh ideas and dishes, and the execution was impeccable. Pretty relaxed atmosphere but great attention to the food. We had oysters, pork belly tacos and champagne for starters. We shared around the table. For entrees, two had the duck, which was one of the most amazing meals I've ever had. Another had scallops, which were excellent. Great meal if you like fresh ingredients and an even fresher menu. Wonderful!!

“If noise is your thing”

No doubt about it, excellent food, good wait staff but toxic noise level ruins the experience. Chef-owner unwilling to face the problem as long as people are eating while they shout.

“Bad Neighborhood, Great Unique Menu”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2012

Once you get past being in the middle of the "hood" you will be in for a great meal of unique menu items and great service. The setting inside is modern but nice. The lighting is dim, but not too dark. The menu is extremely unique and offers everything from the bone marrow appetizer to the elk chops entree and everything in between. Nothing beats the classics, though, and they do their 10 ounce filet perfectly.

Service is attentive and personal. Besides the main waiter, we had at least two others filling our glasses, clearing plates, bringing out the next course, etc. You never had to look or wait for a server when needed.

The dining room is really one main room, and is a bit noisy. But I was there for a business meeting with a total of 6 people. We never had to strain to hear or to talk, so it was not bad at all.

The prices are very high, but then again the food is excellent. If you go there knowing you will pay a lot for dinner and are okay with that, you are in for an awesome meal.
