It always annoys me when people review a place out of it's context. Doc Chey's is a small chain in the area that serves an Americanized version of various noodle dishes so review it on that basis, don't bash it for not being 'authentic' when that's not even what they are trying for! Bottom line is that its a great fix for your noodle cravings, especially in a city without a lot of good options to begin with. Overall they do a good job, the dishes are flavorful and consistent and they have the right base elements to them. I like the spicy thai basil with chicken and/or shrimp, its got a bit of a kick to it and I love the fresh thai basil. They basically serve simplified versions of many 'authentic' asian noodle dishes in a fashion that is pleasing to the American palate. So yes, if you're comparing it to Momofuku in NY or PPQ in SF then its not gonna stack up at all, but for the neighborhood its in and the area its pretty yummy and cheap and well worth a try if you want a quick meal.
