We has a SWELL time dining on fried chicken and chicken and dumplings and many side items including sweet potato suffle. The place was packed with happy diners, all ages and types. We even got our traditional visit from Jo Carter, the restaurant's Goodwill Ambassador which included great conversation and back rubs. Yes, backrubs. Remember: Fried Chicke and Jo Carter!

I ordered the smothered chicken. It was excellent. I was a little surprised that it was still on the bone but that was fine. The food was delicious, the service fast and friendly, and the entertainment was really a
delight. Oh and the cinnamon rolls and yeast rolls were unbelievable!!!

This is truly a taste of the south, home cooking in a restaurant atmosphere. A unique experience since you get to fill in the order sheet for what you want. Servings are very generous, so be careful what you get so you'll have room for dessert. Make sure you let them know that it's your first time going so you get the complementary 'Pot Likker' to start.

We loved the old school charm of Mary Mac's. We tried a bunch of dishes and shared. The food was fantastic, best chicken and dumplings in a restaurant ever. And the peach cobbler was sublime. The staff were friendly and efficient and overall it was a wonderful experience to dine there, and so reasonable! Take a taxi, though, don't walk from downtown, for safety reasons.

We were told about this place by a fellow camper as we were passing through Atlanta. It was well worth the stop. Great service, friendly. We are not from the South but the waitress kindly explained any dishes we were unfamiliar with. We went at an off time mid-afternoon so not crowded at all and no wait. We loved the food and tried all kinds between the four of us. You could tell most of the customers were locals so they must think it is good southern cooking. Definitely a good stop for those non southerners like us to try out the cuisine if the South!
