Views are amazing! Food is very average and overpriced. But... you are paying for the view. Go for drinks, see the sites, then go somewhere better quality for dinner.

A friend took me here for dinner while visiting Atlanta. The sights and ambiance are absolutely spectacular. He called it a lazy man's tour of Atlanta. I appreciated the thought he put into making sure that I had a memorable evening.
The drinks: Pricey
The food: Extremely expensive but it was tasty.
** the joke was the "bottled water service" which was $1 per glass for someone to come repeatedly pour water out of the bottle into our glass. Crazy.

Pros: Best Views of Atlanta...PERIOD !

Cons:
1. Hold on to your wallet - This place is extremely overpriced. They poured us water from a pitcher, called it bottled water and charged us a dollar per glass.
2. No Alcohol, one appetizer, one dessert and 3 ribeye steaks = $300.00
3. The staff appeared very disenchanted with their jobs. For such an expensive experience, I expect to have more professional, groomed and courteous staff. Some of the staffs uniforms appeared dirty and un-kept. Based on the staffs appearance and lack of professional wait staff customs, I thought I was at a beer pub.
4. We had a 5:30 pm reservation, essentially when they opened for dinner. But upon entry, the carpets were dirty and did not appear to have been swept, from the previous service.
5. Lastly, the reservation process is misleading. We attempted to make a reservation on-line for 6pm. But the only availability was at 5:30pm. The restaurant was still half empty, when we left at 7pm. So, it appears they don't confirm reservations and should modify the reservation process, if they typically have so many cancellations or no-shows.

My suggestion:
Ride the elevator and walk around the viewing level to experience the amazing views. Then leave to go somewhere else to have a nice upscale meal.

We took the whole family for Sunday Brunch/Birthday celebration. Service by Stephanie was excellent. Pricey but probably the highest elevation restaurant in Atlanta. We had a broad sampling since there were nine of us. Everything was good or better. Dessert was excellent.
Personal favorite was the fried apple pie. Also had mimosas and bloody marys. Both were well made. Parking is comped for eating at Sun Dial. They will close April 29 until August for renovations of the entire restaurant.

Rotating restaurant located on 72nd Floor of Westin Peachtree Plaza in downtown Atlanta. Tallest hotel in the northern hemisphere according to their "facts" sheet. View deck is on 72nd Floor, resturant seating is on 71 and lounge is on 73... Restaurant rotates 360 degrees once an hour...noticeable but not distracting, a VERY pleasant experience.

Menu is expensive but food is delicious and service was excellent. Pork shoulder appetizer was wonderful, braised short rib fell off the bone, chicken was SO flavorful, and apple desert just scrumtious... Bottled water served at table along with very good dinner rolls, soft butter. Time given between appetizer and main course to enjoy the views and converse.

I appreciated the seating arrangement, where even though it was crowded, no one was on top of each other and the open arrangement kept other conversations from infringing. Everything about the experience was pleasant and I would go back again and again (if I had the money) :)

Total for appetizer, one desert, two main courses, and one alcohol drink was just under $130. They DO validate parking, so use valet for the hotel! Validation is good for 2 hours, and you have to spend at least $75 at the restaurant, but it saves $22 parking fee.
