Older restaurant with a great atmosphere. Some of the best Cajun food I have ever had. The staff is very gracious. They make you feel at home.

Old Atlanta establishment..at least for us newbies. Old but charming time warp atmosphere with old world service...in fact ,one can over look the short comings in the wine by the glass , very limited list, because the service is top rated..starting from the owner to the service staff.."the customer is always right" must have been invented there. The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back ..to bygone times and a gentler world.

McKinnon's was a super interesting dining experience. I live in Atlanta, but have never experience this restaurant, but we were going out with a family member in town for a conference. The concierge at the W Buckhead Hotel got us reservations here. We asked for amazing food and not a chain. Well, McKinnon's fit the bill on both. It you like New Orleans style food, you will love this place. It is definitely a little strange when you walk in, but once the wait staff takes over you know you are going to be well taken care of. The crowd is pretty old, but they are having a blast in the piano bar! Omar was our waiter and could not have been more fantastic. If you are lucky enough to have Aziz, the owner, come over and tell you about the menu, you will want to order one of everything. We all had amazing seafood dishes. Each dish was prepared perfectly. I had Norwegian Black Cod that was on special. It melted in my mouth. For starters we had calamari, shrimp and crawfish. Each dish was expertly made. The cost is very reasonable with most entrees ranging around the $22 - $25 price point. (this same meal would cost $45 in other Buckhead restaurants) Appetizers were around $8 to $9. As another said the waiters were tricking you into a soup or salad, well you would have to be a "first time to the rodeo" diner. They do ask if you would like a salad. It is actually a yes or no question and very clear, if you can read a menu, what comes with your dinner. If you want to have a very unpretentious dining experience in Buckhead with fantastic food.....give McKinnon's a try. (I will guess from the very few reviews they have on trip advisor is a direct correlation from the age of their main clientele) Don't be afraid to go here if you are under 65.....you won't regret it. On a side note, the bathrooms are not great.

The food was fabulous!! However the waiter was deceitful when we ordered. When he asked if we wantef soup or salad with our meal, he failed to say it was not included. Also misled about our appetizers and we ended up with a $55 charge for that!!! Eventually some charges were removed..... :-((

They made me fall in love with Oyster's Rockefeller! The owners are so personable too. They took the time to discuss each entree's history and preparation to our son. The food, drinks and service is fantastic every time we go.
