“Wonderful & Filling”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 9, 2011

Went for my birthday on 12/7. What a treat. We had the sirloin, the medallions, the calamari and salads . . . oh and wine of course. The meal was filling, wonderful and wait staff amazingly attentive. The crowd is also upscale, which always provides for great conversation (about house managers, nannies, overseas trips, etc.) during the probable wait for a table.

“Cool place, great service, interesting music”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2011

We went to the Tavern for happy hour. We were seated right away and the service was attentive without being overbearing. We had appetizers, bbq chips, oyster shots, and Asian lettuce wraps. The food was fresh and delicious.
Keep in mind this is in Phipps Plaza so the cost is high; you pay a premium. Oh, and there is a bathroom attendant. I always feel odd with that service, poor guy hanging out ...the smells and sounds. Anyway.
Parking will be tough as it's limited and you may have to opt for valet.

I noted the music was interesting in that their singer who looked like Michael Bolton appeared to be lipsyncing. Even more interesting it sounded like he was lipsyncing either karaoke or his own voice. Ha!

“Always a good choice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2011

My wife and I ate here twice during our recent stay in Atlanta. We had some appetizers during happy hour on Friday and had lunch there the next day. The scenery during happy hour is excellent, starting with the waitresses wearing extremely short dresses. They also have a local musician who plays cover songs each Friday night. The food is solid but not excellent. This place is more about the scene and it's a consistent standout in Atlanta in that regard.

“Service Worse than a Fast Food Place!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2011

The food was good - not great, but the waitstaff was inexcusable! Walking in to meet my friends who were already seated, a waiter walked in front of me, bumping me as he did so and never acknowledged me. Then as I got to the table, he backed up and bumped into me hard. He turned and walked away without ever acknowledging me! My friends and other diners all stared in surprise.
One friend had a bug in her glass of wine and it took all of 10 mins and a lot of waving to get our waiter to swap it out. There were at least 6 wait staff hanging around in one place talking, dancing, and laughing for quite sometime and it was difficult to get their attention when needed. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! And with The Tavern's prices, you expect a lot better!
