This was our second time visiting Silver Skillet. We love the show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives from the Food Network and wanted to eat here beacuse of Guy Fieri. The restureant feels like you are stepping back in time with the diner setting. The food is yummy and waitresses are sweet and attentive. My oldest who is very picky ate EVERYTHING off of his breakfast plate. He ordered two servings of the french toast.

“Worth the stop”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2012 via mobile

DDD has put this place on the map. Overall it was a very good breakfast. Unique flavors for what you expect in a traditional southern breakfast. The country ham is very good, but it isn't your grandma's. I loved it, but it is very salty and has its own distinct flavor. Biscuits were awesome.

Our waitress was a sweetheart and even though we weren't regulars, she took time be sure we were happy.

The place is a little rough, but hey, that's what gives it some character. Places like this are much more memorable and make a trip that much more fun. Plenty of parking and right off I-75.

My only criticism is that the prices are a little high, but there's always a wait, so who could blame them.

Put the silver skillet on your next trip to Atlanta.

“Yummie traditional breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2012

Stopped by on the road to another vacation destination. Saw the restaurant feature on the show "Diner's, Drive-in's and Dives". Was worth the stop. The sweet old waitress warmed up nicely to us after a few minutes and seemed interested in our travel plans and where we were from. The food was delicious. Get the ham steak.

“Average food, kind of pricey”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2012

I ordered the granola, fruit and yogurt. The portions were huge, I could only eat half the bowl but there was too much granola, not enough yogurt and it was $6 which seems like a lot for basically cereal. My husband ordered the ham steak, eggs, grits and toast. The ham was extremely salty. Overall, the food is just average. The atmosphere was ok. I enjoyed all the pictures of the famous guests but the restaurant looks like it's falling apart. Literally the paint is peeling off the walls and the seating/tables look like they haven't been updated since 1950. It's not a retro style, it's an outdated dive.

“Best food we had in Atlanta”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2012

On a recent vacation to Atlanta, the Silver Skillet was by far the best place. While it may not be true country ham (I agree with CarlWelchWilson's review), it still provides a nice salty taste that I miss when I think of country ham. The flavors were wonderful and it wasn't as chewy as a lot of true country hams can be.

The eggs and porkchops were also good. The biscuits were great, but could have been a tad flakier (less dense) for our taste.

The staff was very accomodating and provided excellent service and we loved the old diner feeling.
