Description: Max Lager's was one of the first restaurants to bring the fresh and natural wood-fired menu concept to Atlanta. The art of cooking with wood enhances the Max Lager's experience with bold flavors simply not found with alternative cooking methods. We feel that the investment made in the wood-fired grill pays great dividends to our guests. All Max Lager's menu items are prepared daily from scratch. Wood-fired steaks, burgers, seafood, ribs, and pizza are Max Lager's signature items. An inspired selection of entree salads and pastas add variety to the American menu. Max Lager's is the oldest brewpub in Georgia, opening in March 1998. Many of Max Lager's house brewed beers have won major awards including two awards at the Great American Beer Festival in Colorado. Max Lager's offers a full bar, wines, local and national craft beers, with a 32 tap draft system in our upstairs bar highlighting a selection of the best craft beers. If you are looking flavorful food and drinks in a warm and inviting atmosphere - Max Lager's is the place to be! Cheers.

“Beer & Pizza; it doesn't get much better”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

I was there with 7 other fellow associates on a very busy night. That didn't stop our server Ldell from taking very good care of us. Sometimes a large group can be a bit difficult but he took very good care of us. The beers were very good and the pizza was pretty good as well. Priced and sized right (starting at $14) I would say they were 10"-12". Good crust and fresh toppings. One person had the shrimp. The coating was good but eh shrimp was getting toward the overdone / dry side. Still a good choice however. It was very busy so the noise level was way up, hard ceilings and walls added to the noise.

“As good as the aroma that greets you as you enter”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

This restaurant is busy for a reason. The ambiance, service, and food are great. You are hit by the smell of the wood fired grill as soon as you arrive and it just gets better if you try one of their beers and the food. The pork chop is certainly one to try.

“Microbrew wit great beer and food.”
Reviewed October 24, 2012 via mobile

Traveling for conference and found this place. Tried the stout and IPA. Both very good. They had standard appetizers but great onion rings. I had a pizza that was really good. Atmosphere was a bit loud but tolerable and the service was pretty good. Great place for casual dinner close to hotel district.

“Very good food and drink, very good service”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

My wife and I had lunch here while staying at the Grand Hyatt - only a block away. It has a casual atmosphere with a very good selection of food, beers and wines. We were particularly impressed by our server (a young woman named Michael) who was simply excellent.

We tried (for the first time) the fried green tomatoes, which were interesting. My wife's pulled pork sandwich was average. My hamburger was excellent. All in all, it was a great place for lunch.

“Good Evening”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

Walked here from the Marriott Marquis Hotel, which took us about 10 minutes. The food was very good and the menu contained a lot of variety, which is always good when travelling with large groups. I had the local beer all night which I can recommend, and I know that all the other local drinks we had in our party went down a treat too.

The atmosphere was friendly and the prices were reasonable considering we were in the middle of Atlanta. The place was well themed and made the experience even more memorable.
