Description: We know, we know: the word "fusion" has been wielded to justify everything from Hula Burgers to Mexican lasagna. But the East-meets-South brand of fusion happening at Poor Calvin's? It's creative; it's innovative; and it's probably unlike anything you've tasted in the ATL. After working in kitchens around the world, Calvin Phan wanted to shake things up a little. And so, into the mac 'n cheese, the Thai spices went. Now, Calvin's giving Southern staples, like meatloaf and fried chicken, a decidedly creative Asian-inspired twist (and a nip of spice, too). Case in point: we didn't think good old-fashioned mac 'n cheese could get much better. And then, we tried Calvin's ridiculously rich take on the cheesy classic, gussied up with chunks of lobster and given a zing with Thai spices. The meatloaf, too, is quite impressive; this spicy, pan-seared Thai version made pretty much all our ketchup-slathered meatloaf memories disappear in a puff of ground coriander.

This has to be one of the best places to eat in Atlanta. From the time we walked in we felt welcomed. All the staff was wonderful beyond expectations. The food is to die for. We will make this place a routine stop whenever we visit Atlanta.

Not for the traditional expectations. The unicorn fish on the menu can gauge expectations toward something quite different from the standard Asian fusion restaurant, should the standard even exist. A nice change of pace worth trying for the non closed-minded restaurant-goer. Try the lobster wontons for something delicious and eclectic.

We went here while in Atlanta for the SEC Football Championship this past Friday. All I can say is INCREDIBLE! I personally had the Unicorn Fish. Fabulous!!! One of my dinner partners had the Crispy Steak (melt in your mouth), my mom had the pineapple rice with Tiger Prawns (beautiful flavor) and the other had the Basil Roll (she did not share, haha)! The appetizers to the wine to the service was wonderful! Do not miss this place!

We celebrated our anniversary here. The service and food was A+. When the bartender heard it was our anniversary he mixed up an amazing and beautiful cocktail. Would definitely come back. My hubby had the Mako Shark and I had the Red curry shrimp. Delicious. The pound cake for dessert was a hit.

Visited with a group of friends while PC's was doing Asian-themed fusion. The staff was engaging and every dish was delicious. Would definitely return to try even more dishes.
