Description: STK Atlanta is located in the heart of Midtown at the "12th & Midtown" development. The restaurant gracefully blends two concepts into one - the modern steakhouse with a high energy lounge. The main room features a large central lounge furnished with creamy leather banquettes and textured crocodile tiles, surrounded by an elevated dining room for more formal dining. Theatrical lights illuminate each table, while smoky mirrors allow patrons to catch a glimpse of the surroundings while a DJ creates an energetic vibe throughout the entire space. As anticipated, steak is the main attraction with a modern twist. STK offers an extensive choice of appetizers not normally found in traditional steakhouses, as well as small, medium, and large cuts of meat, along with a selection of market fresh fish entrees. STK not only offers an extensive selection of spirits, wine, and Champagne but also puts an unconventional spin on traditional libations, all perfectly balanced to compliment our signature dishes and seasonal offerings.

Almost identical to NYC, although for some reason the steak had a crunchier texture and was delicious. Their Magnum Mondays (Vueve Cliquot Champagne Magnum for $100) is the reason to go.

On my first, and only, visit I was totally underwhelmed. The space feels like a dance club while they attempt to present a 'white tablecloth' dining environment. The $48 ribeye was one of the stringiest steaks I've eaten in a long time and certainly NOT worth the money. The rest of the food was equally unmemorable and disappointing. The wine list is sparse and WAY over priced. Our dinner for 4 was over $400 and a total waste of money, time and taste buds. I will not be returning and I will be recommending against.

For the purposes of this review let's separate food quality and value for the price. First (and maybe more important), the food here is prepared well and very tasty. The bread is fresh, hot and covered with a blue cheese butter that is excellent. Salads were fresh and tasty. My wife had the grilled Watermelon salad and I had the crispy pork belly salad. Both were unique and enjoyable. For entrees we had the snapper, which was good but only about 4 ounces. It was presented well and the service was very good. The menu has a large selection of steaks and is priced at approximately the same level as the Palm/Bones/Mortons.

Now for value. Relative to what is served food wise it is probably overpriced by 20% to 30%. That doesn't have a thing to do with how it tastes. They are trying to compete at a level that is above their heads and they aren't winning. The wine list, while kudos for having a pretty good one, is so overpriced it actually makes you not want to order any. It is simple price gouging. When a place clearly tries to take advantage, especially one with potential like STK, it's really pretty sad.

Conclusion: It is easy to drop $100 or more a person here with an appetizer, dessert and wine. If money isn't an option or someone else is buying its worth the trip. The food is pretty good. However the restaurants STK is competing with (i.e. Palm, Mortons, Bones, The Capital Grill) are much better, leaving STK way back in the pack. They could lower their sights a little, adjust their pricing and be a much better all around location to visit. Of course then the "status factor" fades. Oh well, can't have it all I guess.

Ate here with a couple of business associates one of whom had been here before but this was my first time. Typical higher end steak house with a variety of cuts of steak and some seafood options. Chose a bone end ribeye, and the beef quality was good, as it should have been for the price, but was pretty bland otherwise. Other menu options were limited. Restaurant had a great vibe and was a good place for people watching, but food was just okay. It probably didn't help that I went to Morton's the night before and was comparing the two places. This place finished 2nd in all facets.

This was my first time at STK and I brought a friend for her birthday. I thought it was just another overrated hipster place in Midtown but it is actually very nice. The dining room is intimate but it is still open so you don't feel cramped. There is also a large bar area by the front door that probably gets busy later in the evening but we were out by 8:30. But at 7:00 p.m., the dining room was just starting to fill up. One nice thing is that it is a very quiet and you don't have to listen to someone 3 tables away.

Sarah, our server, was absolutely top-notch. She was there when you needed her and we never had to wait for anything. She even arranged a birthday cupcake and candle for my friend. I had a small filet mignon and it was the best steak I have had in Atlanta so far. The appetizers and side dishes were all very good and presented very nicely.

I would definitely go back again.
