Residence Inn Atlanta Midtown/Peachtree at 17th

Convenient location for Midtown. However, 2 of 3 elevators were out of service, no towels were left in room after 1st night maid service, vents in bath exhaust were filthy, AC made load noises, and shower hot/cold adjustment would not work. Maybe try somewhere else.

Seems like a very nice hotel (no pool for the kids, however), but it doesn't matter how nice the place is when there are bedbugs. Room 327. They gave us a new room, no questions asked, but is that because they already knew it had bedbugs? Even more cynically, I wonder if they gave us a bed bug room because we got the reservation on Priceline (for $50)?

I was so upset and in a hurry to get out of that room, that I forgot to get a picture. However, you can go to google images and find a pic of their cousins.

My husband and I and our two adult children stayed at this hotel because of its location to the Arts Center. We had a two bedroom, two bath suite and it was huge. It was walking distance to the Marta subway. While most of the restaurants were near 14th Street, the distance was walkable. We took the Marta to the Civic Center as well as to Lennox Square. The staff was very friendly and helpful with directions to restaurants and shopping. Breakfast was more than adequate with eggs, sausage, and waffles available along with the other usual breakfast items.

I was excited when I booked this hotel on Priceline because I had stayed here a few times before and always had good experiences. Not this time. Here are the problems that I hadon this trip:
1. Given a handicap-accessible room; did not need nor want one; was told that this was the ONLY ROOM TYPE AVAILABLE because I booked through Priceline.com; seriously?
2. The mattress was incredibly hard and didn't seem especially clean. I didn't sleep well all weekend.
3. Valet parking at $21 a night; it's Midtown so *whatever*
4. Leaky pipe in bathroom caused floor and carpet outside of bathroom area to be soggy wet all weekend; reported the problem; was never contacted again; then we were awakened to a maintenance worker trying to enter our room at 8Am on Sunday with a Front Desk person at the door later asking us why WE didn't switch rooms; totally ridiculous customer service
If I book this room again on Priceline, I won't be happy. Definitely do not pay full price for this place. It's not worth it.

The rooms are typical of a residence inn. Clean and roomy, with below average appointments for the price. The lobby is small and unimpressive. Staff was unremarkable. There are limited services, typical of the brand.

Very friendly front desk at check in. Room was clean, sleeper sofa was small for adult.

Part of a package deal to see King Tut and the First Emperor (Chinese terracotta warriors). Included VIP passes for King Tut and First Available for First Emperor. Parking ($19 a night) was included - we had two vehicles. Included breakfast buffet was ok.

Easy stroll 1 block to High Art museum, then rode MARTA (2 block stroll) to Civic Center Station (then walked 4 blocks). Very easy to navigate. Could ride MARTA to Lenox Square (Large shopping mall) for food.

I got a great deal on this hotel and was very pleased with what we got for the price. The room was not in the best condition, it had obviously been well-loved and renovated several times over the years. However, it was HUGE!

This time, it was just my wife and I, so we really didn't need all the space, but the room was very clean, and it was not drafty or loud. The bathroom was also clean and the water temperature and pressure were great. The hotel is close to the Georgia Tech campus, ,so there were a number of college students around, but we enjoyed that.

We went to a local sports bar and a concert, and when we returned to the hotel, we were still hungry and were able to grab a bite at Charlie G's, a little bar on the same block as the hotel.
