Owner description: The home of the Atlanta Shakespeare Company, the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse on Peachtree Street has an enchanting history and a prime location in downtown Atlanta. We are a professional theatre with food and drinks available before each performance (and don't forget the apple crisp at intermission!)
Reviewed November 29, 2010

Atlanta Shakespeare Tavern has it all -- witty repartee of Shakespeare comedies, masterful performances of the tragedies, but also ridiculously fun parodies (don't miss Canterbury Tales and Hamlet the Musical if they do them again next year!), all in a warm intimate atmosphere of a tavern where you enjoy your food and drink at a small table while watching the play. Atlanta Shakespeare Tavern's A Christmas Carol comes with wonderful music peformed by their multi-talented troupe! Their "original practice" style of acting draws the audience into the play - don't worry about the language being difficult to follow -- the actors make sure the audience stays involved. And I do love those wonderful desserts during intermission!
