Holeman and Finch is not a pub. Let’s just get that straight. It’s a fabulous restaurant that just happens to serve many beers and some damn fine cocktails. But aside from relatively few misses (why were those green beans cooked within an inch of their little stringy lives?) this place is a phenomenal leader in the Atlanta dining scene. Many of the chefs, bartenders and waiters shining in local restaurants are transplants from Holeman… which is why you’ll notice exposed wood, speakeasy libations, and house-cured meat around town. It’s a formula but it’s one that works. More detail about what you should order (and some pretty pics) here: [--]

First I would like to address the bad reviews. In NO way is this place expensive and as far as being child friendly, and I have kids, thank goodness it's not! It's a great oasis for adult conversation and when I'm there I would prefer to not have children around. As far as the burger goes, it's worth the wait and everyone knows they only serve 24 at 10. That's part of the excitement getting one. The food is delicious and the prices are completely appropriate.

Do yourself a favor, sit at the bar, give the bartender an idea of what you like and let him/her craft you something delicious.

Take your time, enjoy the experience and remember this isn't a place to rush.

Went for the burger at Sunday brunch. You must arrive before the 1130 opening to get a good seat. Restaurant seating very small or pick the larger seating in the bar. We sat down and wait staff says "burger." We nod yes. We also order the deviled eggs. They were good not great. You cannot order alcohol until after 1230 on Sunday in Atlanta. The hamburger arrived in 5 min.The hamburger was amazing!

We visited the bar area in July on a Sat night. It was early (7pm) and we just wanted a little bite. My hubby read about the specialty cocktails and really wanted to try one. They have an impressive specialty list and impressive bartenders. They were very knowledgeable when answering taste questions from their customers.
It was crowded in their small bar area but since we were just 2 we didn't wait very long for a seat along the wall. We had the grouper cheeks, zucchini blossoms(!), and a cheese plate. All yummy and definitely a 'small' plate. The couples on either side of us had the fois gras and complained about the portion size but not the flavor. Wide variety of choices. Easy valet parking. Do get reservations of course for the restaurant.

It seems to be the era of the burger....lot of great and unique burger places popping up. Holeman & Finch has them all beat...hands down. If you have never been, put it on your list but get there early as they only make 24 and don't start serving them until 10:00pm. It get there 5 after 10pm, forget it. They serve more for Sunday brunch but you still need to get there early.
