Description: Bistro Niko is a nod to Paris, right in the heart of Buckhead. The modern French fare is authentic & simple, while the affordably priced wine list, exciting cocktails and extensive craft beer list ensure that everyone finds something to suit their tastes. Grand ceilings, art from Paris and a patio that overlooks Peachtree make Bistro Niko at once a destination and a neighborhood restaurant.

Situated right in the heart of Buckhead, there is valet parking to the rear of the restaurant and you enter from this direction, not Peachtree. The restaurant is cavernous and styled to reflect a French theme with tablecloths of dish drying cloth style and matching napkins. The overall effect is attractive. The menu is huge with many recognizable French dishes that I think are interpreted in a way that is very successful here in the States. The wine list is good and the complimentary sparkling water a nice touch.
Service is efficient and friendly with the only drawback being that the restaurant is quite noisy. Great for a lively lunch or dinner but not for a quiet meal. I have been there several times and will go again.

Went here Feb 2013 because my wife really wanted to check it out.

Pros

Food was very very good. Scallops were cooked perfect and salmon was very good as well. Small portions however. Salad was ok but could be eaten in about 4 bites - sub par for a $12 salad.

Cons

My wife and I are young (mid twenties), which I believe caused us to get poor service and attention from the wait staff. There was also a vibe of "you're too young to be here". We were by far the youngest ones in the restaurant and many people made us aware of that fact.

All in we spent over $100 and received mediocre service at best. Food was good but stuffy atmosphere caused a dull overtone to our dinner. I wouldn't go here again but glad its now checked off out to do list.

This is very much one of "the places to go" in Atlanta. The enrgy is high and the bar very active while the menu is imaginative and satisfying, The mussels are especially good as is the steak frittes but also try the tartes and virtually anything else. Sit in the main dining room rather than the side room. You will find the service excellent and a wonderful dining experience.

Our reservation was made with a request for a well located table and an experienced server both of which were complied with. We had a great view of the entire energetic dining room and backed up to the bar which deflected some of the noise. Our soft shell crab appetizer was delicious, crunchy, fresh and a treat. My wife had roasted hake on a bed of spinach while I enjoyed the trout almandine on French style green beans with a side of delicious slaw. We especially liked the house champagne in the blanc de blanc style and each had to have a second glass to confirm our impression!

Food outstanding! Service outstanding! It is loud like a Paris Bistro, but the tables are not a closely seated, thankfully, as a Paris Bistro.
