Owner description: This stunning, porcelain-enameled building was designed by famed architect Richard Meier and is rivaled only by the art inside. Featuring American, European and African art, as well as decorative art and photography, the High Museum boasts a permanent collection of over 11,000 pieces, many of which can be viewed from different levels of the four-story, glass atrium.

A little more formal than the run of the mill museum and the docents have no sense of humor but well worth a visit.

This was part of our City Pass. The museum is part of a larger complex, so a little confusing for us to find. It was easy to navigate once in the museum. Enjoyed the exhibits- especially the interactive area for the kids.

Worth a visit if you're in Atlanta. Quite a large collection in a very open-plan, modern building. We found it be a pleasant break but apart from two exhibits (a Frank Lloyd Wright desk and a Frank Gehry cardboard chair), nothing really stood out.

Purposely came to the High to see the exhibit of the West. Very good exhibit; plenty of articles to see; well worth the money. spent at least 2 house in this one exhibit. Parking is an extra ticket.

We were in Atlanta for a wedding weekend, so we didn't have a lot of free time to explore on our own. One place we were lucky to enjoy was the High Museum of Art, mainly because it was located right down the street from our hotel.

The High building itself is a piece of architectural artwork. If it were an empty shell, it'd be worth a look just to appreciate the beauty of the building and grounds. But it's not an empty shell. What's inside it at least as good as what's outside. Our favorite exhibits were the marble statues. There are a few of them that are full-sized women who are carved to appear as those they have transparent veils over their faces. How you do that all in marble I will never know. There are a lot of people in the world who are infinitely more talented that I. I'm just glad I can muster the appreciation for their work.
