This historical park is the final resting place for many Civil War soldiers, golfing legend Bobby Jones, and "Gone With the Wind" author Margaret Mitchell. Our group of 8 people did a private tour at 6 p.m. with John as our tour guide (he was awesome!). The minimum required for a private tour is 6 people. The tour takes at least 1 1/2 hours but John would have stayed with us longer if we did not have a dinner reservation to get to. Wear comfortable shoes and try to go in the fall or spring when the weather is more pleasant. The tour guide will tell you the history of Oakland cemetery as well as the history of the people buried there. It's really a beautiful park where you will see weddings being conducted.

I'm not much for cemetery tourism, but this place has a great vibe. I spent a couple lovely hours strolling up and down. Found some lovely grave stones -- Margaret Mitchell's included -- and just generally enjoyed the trees and quiet.

I recommend eating across the street at Ria's Bluebird, and then coming here for a stroll to burn off some of those calories.

Saw the Cemetery as part of a Segway tour. The history is interesting and to find out that people actually have weddings here was a little eerie. Very pretty, well maintained, nice place to take a walk or have a afternoon lunch. Nice view of Downtown Atlanta. Worth a stop while visiting the Atlanta area, the history alone is worth the visit.

The property is well preserved. Very memorable of those passed and respecting the after life. Walking down the aisles i couldnt feel like i wad in a movie. Its a free visit. They have an app too for when you go to being your own tour guide.

This is a cultural icon within the Atlanta area and one that I would recommend for those visiting the city.
