A wonderful place to visit & photograph. The gardens & landscape are so beautiful. Rosemary, some of which is quite large, grows throughout the cemetery, signifying remembrance. It is rich in Atlanta history, from the Confederate Memorial Grounds, to the final resting place of Margaret Mitchell, author of Gone With the Wind. Even though some of the people buried there may not be included in the guide, their stories are part of Atlanta's history & are worth looking into. There are beautiful sculptures & architecture throughout. There is a nice visitor's center/ gift shop & the people there are friendly & so informative.
If you don't do a guided walk, make sure you print a map from their site online or pick up a guide book at the visitor's center, it makes exploring so much better. Wear comfortable shoes.More
