Piedmont Park is full of fun things to do. If it's not Dogwood Festival fun or some other festival going on in the park- there are still a ton of activities to partake in. Basketball, tennis, beautiful nature walks with your pup, your own game of soccer- this park has it all! Also a spectacular wedding venue location!

I was here on a hot, humid day in May. I got the MARTA, and it was a bit of a walk in that sort of weather. I'd recommend getting a taxi or Uber rather than using public transport.
The gardens and park are an oasis in that weather. The walks were wonderfully cool, teeming with birdlife and plenty of chipmunks and squirrels to see. There are water fountains at some spots but I'd recommend carrying water if it's hot and humid.
Wear shoes that can cope with unpaved surfaces on some paths.
The Botanic Garden gift shop is open to all (the Garden itself is charged entry). Some lovely things.

Piedmont Park has 2 dog parks; one for small dogs and the other for larger breeds. The park is in general well kept, has water stations and plenty benches along the trails. Super place for concerts and outdoor shows. Love it!

We visited Piedmont Park last year for the Annual Jazz Festival held during Memorial Day Weekend. During the festival there were a lot of vendors and food to shop from. The entertainment was amazing. Overall it’s a huge park in the heart of Atlanta right next to the Botanical Gardens
