Just beautiful!
My friend and I walked around for hours, sat and had a picnic. The park is clean and gorgeous!

We took here a long stroll with our son. Although the grass was partly dead and the trees stood without leave (due to the winter) it was easy to see the park is beautiful. I can totally see our family spend here several hours during a warmer time. We especially enjoyed to walk around the lake

Very nice park. There are fields, tracks, dog parks, a lake, playgrounds, etc. They have festivals here as well as farmers markets a lot. Great views of the city and good places right around the park. Parking is tough to be close like within a 3 block radius because it's more residential use. You can find it though, weekends are easier in the morning. Join in a Frisbee game or something.

Piedmont Park is Atlanta's equivalent to Manhattan's Central Park. A lot of history. Remarkably pleasant, walkable. Plenty of various areas -- baseball diamonds, softball, tennis courts; bikes; roller-blades; live music and theater venues; playgrounds; picnic areas; ponds with boats, swimming pool. Lots of dogs. Parking is, of course, limited -- this is Atlanta; particularly when there are festivals or events in the park, it's probably better to take a MARTA bus, or ride the MARTA train to the Midtown or Arts Center station, and walk to the park. Unless included in one of the festivals, cafes and restaurants are only found on the outer reaches of the park.

The park is especially interesting when it is filled with people wearing glow sticks and bizarre costumes. The firefly run is a great event to take part in and to come take photos of. Bring a tripod and a nice camera and you'll have a blast!
