“Desperate Update needed”
Reviewed August 11, 2008

This attraction really needs a massive overhaul to reflect President Carter's tireless efforts with Habitat for Humanity, his many peace missions and his novel writing. The museum is really showing its age and was very dated. Some artifacts in the cases were not put on acid free paper and are fading badly, some even have yellowed tape where they were stuck to the mounting board. Nice if you are a Carter fan but don't expect too much.

“Beautiful Grounds”
Reviewed May 10, 2008

I had never visited a Presidential Library before or even been in a city which was home to one. As a result, since I was in Atlanta I took advantage of a few hours to go tour the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library. Known for his human rights work during is presidency and after, there are several displays relating to his work in that area. Great showcase on the history of the Presidency as well as his 4 years. There is also a replica of JC's oval office on display as well as his Nobel Peace Prize. Several personal items of the former President are also on display. When I was there, they also had a wonderful photographic display on Alaska which was a limited time exhibit. Also, had a great downhome meal in the cafe located on site.

The grounds were incredibly beautiful with a view of the Atlanta skyline. Well kept, green, and numerous flowers in bloom. Very peaceful with statues, ponds and birds. Take advantage and walk the paths. Nice visit while in Atlanta.

“Beautiful grounds, informative displays!”
Reviewed April 18, 2008

Of the 4 presidential libraries that I have visited in the past 10 years, I think that the Carter Presidential Library and Museum has the most beautiful flowers and plantings. Be sure to take your camera! The inside displays are good, too. The exhibit on previous presidents was a good history lesson, and the sections on conservation and nuclear proliferation were especially striking, given today's state of affairs. The displays of campaign paraphernalia--especially the Peanut farmer posters--were fun to look at! Even the food in the cafeteria looked good!

“interesting museum surrounded by beautiful gardens”
Reviewed April 8, 2007

I had never visited a Presidential Library before and found this one to be very interesting. It gives a good understanding of the political process from running for president, inheriting any crisis the former president may have left, the challenges during your 4 years and then the process of trying to run for re-election while running the country. With Carter, it doesn’t end there. The museum is updated to include what he is involved with today. There is also ample information on Roselyn and her involvement with the White House. The museum is located on beautiful grounds with gardens, reflecting pools, waterfalls & ponds. I got through in 2 hours while reading some exhibits and skimming others. The library was not open on the Saturday that I was there.

“Good Musuem. Not so good president. Good for history”
Reviewed January 26, 2007

I toured the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library. I did not think he was a good president but I was 13 when Gritz and Fritz were elected so this was very interesting to me. I got there in time to spend 2 hours before they closed at 4:45 PM. Lots of items and pictures from Jimmy’s childhood, early political races and a room devoted to his 1976 presidential campaign. There were areas that documented the Iran hostage crisis, energy crisis, SALT II treaty. Also on display are many gifts of state from foreign governments. There was a section devoted to famous photographers and their pictures. There were even pictures of the devastation caused by Katrina.
