“Beautiful grounds and history museum”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

The museum was so interesting and included lots of photos from the time period that Jimmy Carter was President. I learned alot about the good work he and his wife have done over the years.

“Beautiful grounds; lovely facility”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

I visited the Carter Library & Museum on July 29, 2013. I spent a wonderful afternoon enjoying the grounds and the facility. To start, admission is $8--well worth the price! You enter through the gift shop and pass through two theaters where you can view a 15 minute video about President Carter and his life. The you head on through exhibits which take you from the former president's birth in Plains through to his Nobel prize and Grammy award (yes he won a Grammy for "spoken word" performance. There is also a replica of his oval office in the White House. You can also see the clothes he and Rosalyn wore on their wedding date. There are tons of historical photos and a timeline of his presidency. Kids can enjoy this museum as there are little boxes with questions where kids can read a question then lift the handle to see the answer. There is also an interactive exhibit towards the end where visitors can learn about the programs that the Carter Center participate in including monitoring elections around the world and eradicating diseases. Before you leave go over to the table next to the gift shop that has pamphlets and such and pick up a leaflet that list all the presidential libraries/museums--there are twelve all together. Once you leave the building you can linger in the gardens. There is a small reflecting pool at the entrance but as you follow the sidewalks you will come upon lovely gardens. This turned out to be my favorite during my short stay in Atlanta.

“Great Visit!”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

No crowds, lovely setting, easy access, reasonably priced, great history lesson. Loved seeing the Oval Office, the Nobel Peace Prize, and the President's Naval background. He is a fine man and I am proud of his continued service through the Carter Center and Habitat for Humanity.

“Not at all What I Expected!”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

The Jimmy Carter Library is actually perfect for it's eponymous honoree. Table after table of coloring books, finger paint easels, little five piece puzzles and bowls of roasty toasty peanuts at every turn. Don't miss the Giant Jimmy Head playground! The maze constructed of huge teeth alone is worth the price of admission. Jimmy himself might show up and tell a Bible story to the crowd. Please humor him, he's old and has advanced dementia.
