I came to Atlanta to do a mentoring at Ga Tech and I got a very nice got a very nice bedroom suite with full kitchen. The room contained a washing and a dryer, a full kitchen, a very nice bathroom and the bedroom was amazing. The hotel overall was pleasant and comforting.

We stayed here primarily for convenience to attend a football game. We had stayed there many years ago, so we were not expecting the beautiful setting and new modern facility that greeted us! Check-in was a breeze and we went immediately to eat in the hotel restaurant. The food and bloody mary's were wonderful. We had splurged on a junior suite to have room for a group to gather and we were very pleased by the size of the two rooms and the closets and bathroom.

Bell hops who greeted us, waitresses, and Ivy who checked us out, all provided outstanding service! This experience made us want to return soon and attend an event at the Fox.

Room Tip: We loved our view of the Fox Theater.

We had a mini family reunion with nine people and four generations. Our usual choice of Atlanta hotels were fully booked for Labor Day so we decided to try this one. This is our new favorite hotel. We loved the history and the architecture of the building. The location across from the Fox Theater was great. The restaurants were very good and reasonably priced. The staff from valet to reception to checkout friendly and helpful. Our rooms were huge. Yes there is some street noise, no problem. Yes the rooms weren't 100 % up to date. No problem. They were clean and suited our needs.

Room Tip: We loved our room on the ninth floor with the circular bedroom on the corner of the lot. Penthouse s...

We stayed here in order to attend a sporting event at the Georgia Dome. The hotel is beautiful, with lots of charm. The bed was uber comfy, and the room was clean and large. It was so large, in fact, that we could've used more furniture. The only complaint I have is that there is no labeling/directional signage for the ice machine and vending machines locations (not even in the room's service book). I ended up walking to the front desk with wet hair and pajamas to ask the location, only to find out it was on my floor. I walked around for 10 minutes both before and after that front desk trip, and somebody staying at the hotel finally fold me where that room was located! One last thing--if you're looking to walk from this hotel to the Georgia Dome, do it only if you are in VERY good shape or you like sweating!

I dont understand all the rave reviews about this hotel. It has a beautiful bar and exterior, but the rooms are faded and the clientele not particularly nice.
This is the second time I have stayed here and the first time was mediocre at best. However, we booked this late and I had few options. I thought it might be ok this the second time round given that a lot of the exterior had had a facelift.
The second time was terrible and I will NEVER stay there again.

When we stayed there was major construction work going on in the building and we had to rely on the service elevator or wait with about 15 other people and the bell hop for the main lift. This normally took no less than 10 minutes. Ridiculous.

When we booked we were not told that Georgia Tech graduation was happening the same weekend at the Fox Theatre. The hotel was packed! It was also loud and unsettling the number of non guests freely being allowed to wander around the hotel. I have a 6 year old son that was woken at 3am to shouting and banging in the hallway. The revellers were smoking and shouting in the corridor outside our room.

The kitchen in the room had NO cutlery, NO glasses, NO ameneties of any sort. I dont understand why bother haveing a kitchen if you wont provide the guests with the items that should come with it. Everytime i needed something like a spoon or a glass, it was a 25 minute trawl waiting for the elevator and then asking somoene to locate what seemed to be the only spoon in the hotel!

It is a historical and lovely hotel on the outside. And being downtown is lovely as well. However, there are better hotels in Atlanta with superior customer service. Until the hotel has completed its refurb, I'd stay away.

chooochoootrane,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and suggestions with our team here at the Georgian Terrace. We appreciate the opportunities you have given our property and understand your frustration with the renovations we underwent. In order to make necessary room improvements to match the charming aesthetic of the bar and exterior areas, this construction is imperative to our growth.
We rely heavily on helpful review suggestions of our guests like you, to aggressively work on bettering service standards and cultivate a more positive experience for our visitors. We hope that you'll be willing to visit for a return trip after the renovation is complete and improvements applied, so you can become acquainted with the wonderful property you should have experienced previously.
Thank you again; we would love to see you for a return trip.

Warmest regards,
Brianna Salomon

We are currently staying in a 3 bedroom suite - it is huge!! Our room hasn't been updated, but the accommodations were fine for our group of 5. We loved having so much space. I agree with other reviewers that you can hear a lot of street noise from outside and the elevators were very slow. Lucky for us we were on the second floor and didn't mind taking the stairs. The best part about this hotel is the customer service. The front desk staff, valets, and doormen where always so pleasant and friendly. Every time we called down to request something (towels, sewing kit, etc) the items arrived quickly and there was always a follow up call to make sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially if you are traveling with a group and need a large space.

This hotel is very charming, very friendly service, clean, close to several attractions, food, and Marta subway station. Our room was modern and clean. Very comfy bed. Nice bathroom a very nice standing shower. My only complaint is that there were only 2 elevators and they were remodeling one of them. We stayed for the Chickfila kickoff bowl weekend and the elevators were slow and packed since the hotel was at full capacity. So we had to use the stairs the entire time! Luckily we were only on the 4th floor! Haha. Otherwise this hotel was A+!
