“Bedbugs”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2012

Stay marred by bedbugs found in sofa sleeper in Room 418. After a long day, we returned to the hotel and pulled out the sofa. My daughter asked what bedbugs look like and I replied let's check on line. Wouldn't you know that the picture that popped up was an exact replica of what was crawling on the sofa. So at 11:30 pm we had to pack up and move to another room.

We booked through Expedia and their resolution was a $25.00 coupon good for our next booking. The hotel's resolution , " we moved you to a new room. That's all we are going to do for you."

Good location. Nice staff. If this is the best Hyatt Place will do, I will cancel my reservation at the Ontario CA location. The time for hotels to mistreat customers is over.

Room Tip: I can't advise because I don't know if Bedbugs are on every floor or just the fourth floor.

I stayed at the Buckhead Hyatt Place with my wife and teenage daughter in what was supposed to be a suite. This was my first and only stay ever at a Hyatt Place hotel. I did not quite like the layout and concept. The bedroom is not truly separated from the living area where the sofa bed is. That made for an uncomfortable sleeping arrangement, as if all three of us were sharing the same room. There is only one flat screen TV set positioned in such a way that it is to be turned and shared between those slepping in the bed proper and those in the sofa bed. The bathroom is miniscule and not well suited for family stays. I realize that this design is probably the same in all Hyatt Place hotels and not only the one in Buckhead, one of Atlanta's premier zones. The location and the level of service by the staff may be this property's best qualities. While I am thankful for their kindness and attentive service, I wasn't impressed with Hyatt Place's design and setup I will probably not choose this brand again anywhere.

We arranged a block of 25 rooms for our wedding in Atlanta. The rate was great for a buckhead hotel and included spacious rooms, ample breakfast buffet, and free parking. But know that this is not a 4 star hotel - its a nice step up from a budget motel but did not have the level of service for higher rated, nearby hotels. Staff was mostly very helpful but did make a few mistakes regarding check in that could have been dealt with much better. For the same price, consider looking at hotwire or another service to get a deal at a 4 star hotel.

Room Tip: Very few connecting rooms and they cannot guarantee them. Book somewhere else if you must have conn...

I recently stayed here for a fun trip and would stay again in a heartbeat. The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was larger than expected and clean. Despite being on a busy street, the hotel was surprisingly quiet with very little street noise as well as little noise within the hotel. Bed was comfortable and shower had the perfect pressure. My only little complaint was that the bathroom was very small. However, that was insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Location was decent, about 3.5 blocks to MARTA but easy enough to drive everywhere. And parking was free, which was a huge savings for us! Would recommend this hotel highly for a price of less than $100 night, if you can get it.

Free parking, free shuttle to shopping and MARTA station nearby, free hot breakfast, free wifi in the room, free business center including printer, and the rooms have this lounge and zen kind of feel. Very relaxed and convenient to everything. Even better, if you want to go downtown, you can get on 400 from Lenox Rd. without having to pay the toll. Staff is friendly and helpful. Convenient for business check in check out as well as visiting families who just want to be accessible to everything.

Room Tip: Ask which ones have a view and you'll see the intersection of Piedmont and Peachtree to better j...

I recently joined my husband at a conference at the Buckhead Hyatt Place and was pleasantly surprised at the comfort of the room and the professionalism of the staff. It's true the hotel doesn't have the panache or "wow" factor of, say, the Ritz-Carlton (located a few blocks away on Peachtree), but it works very well for business travelers (and in my case, their spouses) and is a good value. I travel a LOT, so I tend to notice whether or not someone has thought carefully about making the rooms efficient and well-appointed. In this case, the design of our room was very clever: just the right amount of closet space and drawer space, ample counter space, a well-designed desk area for writing or using a computer, a huge flat-screen TV positioned so that it could be seen from both the bedroom and the living room area (which were partially separated by a divider wall), comfortable sectional seating in the living room area, and lighting designed specifically for different areas of the room. Sheets and towels were ample and plush, and the room finishes (carpet, counter-tops, etc.) were all well maintained and of good quality. The room was compact (not huge) but perfect for our purposes. The emphasis here is on efficiency, not excessive decor or conspicuous luxury. The lobby area is cleverly designed, with a tiny bar tucked discreetly around to the side of the reception desk -- convenient for guests but not likely to draw any walk-in traffic from the street. Numerous restaurants are within walking distance, so you can find your desired cuisine, style and price pretty easily. Staff members all greeted us cheerfully, and the front desk staff was especially pleasant and helpful. One downside: the elevators are very slow, but we didn't find this to be a problem since the hotel is fairly small overall. Note that Buckhead is nowhere near downtown Atlanta, so you should only stay here in relation to business or shopping destinations in the Buckhead area. I would recommend this hotel for a business travel, and I would stay at other Hyatt Place locations for business or vacation travel on a budget.

Stayed here with my wife on a tour on 12/2/12. The hotel is in a downtown built up area. The foyer includes the bar which has little atmosphere. The room was spacious and of a good standard, however the air con unit , which was right next to the bed was stuck on cold. It would not switch off and was really noisy. By the time we realised this we were in bed and as wed just come in from the Airport we deceided to endure the night. In fairness the hotel might have moved us had we asked although other members of our party had a similar experience. We had a free continental breakfast which was nice. In summiming up I would not stay here for morre that the odd night.

Room Tip: Before you unpack and get too settled just try your air con unit. Is it working, how noisy and will...
