We were in town for a reunion, and my wife wanted to visit CNN since she's a regular visitor on their website. The tour was very informative and even included a green-screen interactive element. We were kind of surprised by how many security guards there were throughout the tour. Keep in mind that you go up several floors and then walk down. A member of our tour group had a suitcase with him, and lugged it around for the entire tour. Our tour guide seemed a little rough at first, but seemed to warm up as the tour progressed. As with many tours, you end up in the gift shop, but at least this one had merchandise from other cable channels and shows. Overall, a good and informative experience in Atlanta.

The CNN tour is a MUST SEE in Atlanta. It was awesome to see how everything happens. Our tour guide Jason was Outstanding! We had several kids in our group (none with us) but he was great with them and incorporated the kids into his tour.

Had a terrific experience taking the tour at CNN in Atlanta, GA last week. It was a guided tour which was fascinating and entertaining, most enjoyable. We saw the newsrooms, videos of how news is produced, actual opportunities to be on camera and the history of CNN. It's definitely worth your time and is affordable!

There is a good tour that shows and demonstrate how CNN produces news, shows the studios, the employees behind the news, TV technique how to integrate the anchor and computerized graphics. Very interesting, absolutely recommended !!!!

As a big fan of CNN, this was the highlight of my trip to Atlanta! We walked to the CNN Center from our hotel downtown - the Marriott Marquis. It is adjacent to the Centennial Olympic Park, so we were able to walk through the park on our way there and see that piece of history. Whether you are a fan of CNN or not, the building itself is something to see. The first floor is a huge food court and also contains the public restrooms, CNN gift shop, and ticket desk. We were there on a Friday morning and arrived around 8:30. First tour starts at 9:00 and we were able to purchase our tickets when we arrived. We opted for the basic tour ($15), although we did consider the "VIP" tour but didn't want to come back in the afternoon for that. Our tour guide was very good and our group only had maybe 10 people and no kids, so the experience was pleasant. If you have been in/around studios before, you may not be very impressed. But, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was part educational with mockup news desks, green screen and teleprompter for us to try! But we actually listened in to a behind the scenes of the director speaking to the on-air live presenters. And, from above the newsroom and behind windows, we could see the actual desks/work space of the journalists gathering the news. The highlight for me was watching the live on-air filming of the anchor (we saw Carol Costello on-air live, and Chad Myers walked in the studio before we left). We were actually behind a large wall of glass that faced the anchor's desk, so the cameras were in between us and Carol. But it was still interesting for me. Photos were not allowed during this part! The eight-story escalator was the beginning of the tour, then throughout the tour, you are walking down a flight of stairs, one or two stories at a time. Not terribly exhaustive since it's gradual and there are stops in between. Overall, worth the time (about an hour) and money.
