“Skank of an area”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

What a disgrace to Atlanta this place is. I guess people think it's cool because there's graffiti everywhere and hobos walking around relentlessly harassing passerbys for money. This area is filthy, with trash and spilled food littering the streets. It makes one feel that a sewage pipe burst. There's nothing exciting about this area other than maybe the goal of getting out alive. The parking is very tricky and unforgiving. Good luck finding that hidden parking meter that if you don't pay could result in towing, booting or citation. Bottom line, there are cleaner and better places to spend your money. Stay away from this ripoff of an area. Oh, and if you don't buy something, don't expect to use a bathroom. Better off not using their bathrooms anyway. Disgusting!

“Like No Other”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

First review of many (hopefully) from me. Little Five Points is one of my favorite shopping areas that I've been to. Not a large amount of stores, but these are stores you will not find anywhere else. From the Junkman's Daughter, filled with trinkets and useless yet hilarious toys and knick-knack stuff, to Bang-On shirts (where you can create your own shirt from their thousands of designs), to the Vortex, Salvage Pizza (try the calzones!), and plenty of other little stores to keep you interested. But I'll be honest with you...the venue isn't that great. Tons of homeless people and street "performers" located on the main corner of the area. You will more than likely be asked by one or two people for money or to listen to their new rap CD. But hostile they are not.. I've been many many times and I see generally the same ones there, so I doubt they try anything that would get them in trouble. Anyways, a place to take your kids? No.. too many headshops and hookah bars, but definitely a place you should check out if you are interested in seeing some different stores and people!

“Fun place, a throw back from the late 60"s”
Reviewed May 16, 2013

This was a cute area, it reminded me of Greenwich village in New York. There are a lot of small stores, second hand stores, art stores, and boutiques. There were some nice ethnic restaurants also well worth a try

“The better mini Haight”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

Correct, this is not the Haight -- much smaller but also lacking the filth of the Haight. I found it much more picturesque (the sunny warm weather helped) and the few stores actually much more interesting. Well worth it for a quick 1 hour tour. Don't go too early, or everything will still be closed

“Funky, yes, but it's no Haight-Ashbury”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

Little Five Points is supposed to be a funky neighborhood with odd shops and unique finds. It is odd, but the shopping is pretty weak unless you are into second-hand clothing and records. My best recommendation is to grab an excellent celery ravioli and brewski at Porter Beer Bar, sit by the front window, and simply watch. There are some truly interesting, unique individuals. The lady in the fur coat pushing the stroller containing a huge cat will be forever etched in my mind.
