I was much more impressed than I expected to be. The gardens are very extensive with trails that walk through the woods opening on vignettes and special living sculpture surprises, including a giant dog, unicorn and Earth Goddess, as well as green houses for tropical plants and orchids, a children's garden, an edible garden, flower gardens and a number of other areas to peruse. I especially recommend the canopy walk, making sure you see the cobras, and the glass sculpture with the Atlanta skyline in the background. There are a number of great picture opportunities for both family and plants. The gardens also have special events so check the website. If you plan on going more than once and are with a group of 4, buy the "garden membership" which will include four adult entrants and future visits for a year. They also gave an AAA discount. It was very enjoyable. Allow 2 to 3 hours. There is a parking garage and also a charge for parking (by the hour).

The lights exhibit was beautiful, and though it was cold outside the tropical garden was steamy and inviting. Such a beautiful place; don' miss the brige!

Incredibly beautiful garden for strolling and talking and kissing. Go when they have guests art exhibits. Chihuly, Niki de Saint Phalle, Henry Moore, kinetic art, and Garden Lights have all been amazing. The current mosaiculture show is fabulous.

My family visited the garden as an extension to our science study. I have three bouncing boys so I had some concerns with our visit. I wasn't sure if acres of flowers would hold their attention or if visitors would appreciate my bouncing boys romping throughout the garden. However, my boys thoroughly appreciated the various displays of plant life. They particularly enjoyed the greenhouse, swing overlooking the lawn, tree canopy, and childrens' area. My boys were 11,4, and 2 at the time and the scenery actually calmed them and they enjoyed the experience. We enjoyed a fabulous and healthy lunch purchased in the cafe located in the Garden. The staff was friendly and property very well maintained. Many of the staff went out of their way to explain details to my curious boys making our visit even more memorable. While my children liked the kid's area, it seemed a bit restricting and outdated for them. However, it was also unique and played well with the garden theme. For families interested in more playtime and space to run, there is a walkway from the garden into Piedmont Park.
