I’ve been a member for years & this place helped foster my kid’s love of dinosaurs & helped them learn about all the sciences. The IMAX movies are very good. I am glad they have added wild wods so we can take a hike together. This place is great for young kids!

We took our 11 year old granddaughter for an educational experience and was not disappointed. We were particularly impressed with the outdoor attractions- a nice hiking trail through old growth trees, interspersed with an area designed to challenge children. Indoors, the Walk Through Time in Georgia history was interesting, showing how the area developed over millions of years. Also there is an area where children are allowed to play with some mechanical devices that demonstrate simple engineering principles such as mechanical advantages of pulley systems and a place to build and test model gliders. The IMAX theater also offered 3D movies on Hero Dogs and Spirit Bears- nature films that our granddaughter enjoyed. She was not particularly interested in a special display showing very large fresh water fish from around the world. But all in all, it was a very enjoyable afternoon.

Our kids seemed to enjoy this place! Some nice exhibits and a nice walking path outside. They had students set up doing special booths on different topics, one on skills of mammals and one on whales. They were so knowledgeable and very engaging! I thought this was a great idea!! We also loved the 3D movie!!

Being from Alabama I am more partial to Alabama’s history so it was nice to change it up a bit. The exhibits with native animals and prehistoric animals from Georgia was unique but it seemed like it was just missing that “X-Factor.” Good for entertaining younger kids but just had a hard time keeping my attention. Not blasting them....and I would recommend to families but with kids roughly 6-12.

Thanks for your feedback. It's always helpful to learn about the experiences of all our guests--and while children under 12 are a big part of our audience, so are adults! We want everyone to enjoy their experience so we'll use this feedback as we consider new programming.

Large open spaces indoors and outside. Not crowded. Great exhibits for all ages. Went with a friend, and we had a great time. Dinosaurs, river giants, outdoor art, hiking trails, world culture exhibits. For a short visit, stay inside. For a longer one, hike the trails. Affordable admission fees.
