“Lots of useful info”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

Birth home tour was full. Liked the firehouse and got the reservations of 2 persons who didn't show up for the birth home tour. Ebenezer Baptist Church was having a bake sale which was nice. Easy to access by Marta

“Nice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

It was Nice to see.
On the site They say where you can park, so we did put our car at the public parking area.
We had to walk tru a very bad neighbourhood what looked like a ghetto.
We also had to walk under a bridge where al the homeless where and live, it had a terrible urine smell.
I really did not feel save to walk there.
So we went to the memorial and take a quick look and that was really great to see but i wantend to be back by our car als soon als possible so we didn't have to walk our Way back to late in de day.

“Shameful condition of site considering the magnitude of the man!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

Visited the site today and think it is an embarassment to Atlanta, the State of Georgia and the country as a whole, that a man who literally forged the civil rights movement is resting in such a cold, callous tomb amidst shallow concrete wading pools in disrepair. The center is very interesting and even knowing the poor condition of the premises (in particular the area where his tomb is), i cannot fathom that there is not a single plant, flower, foliage to adorn the tomb which sits on a round, cold, concrete platform in the middle if a wading pool that has paint cracking, discolored, dirty and is not operating as it was clearly intended, as a type of waterfall from one pool to the next. Shameful! I took some friends from Europe who were aghast at how we honor the resting place of a national hero.

Having said my piece, the visit is still worth it, if only in honor of the man, Dr. King.

“Marvelous look at King's early influences”

Loved the focus on his early family life and influences. Very moving experience. Easy to get to on the 99 bus.

“MLK Center”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

My family and I were very disappointed to see that the center was in such poor condition. It's hard to believe that as many people who are millionaires because of Dr. King is not making sure that the center that is dedicated to his name is not upkept the way it should have been. We had several young people with us who were not around when Dr. King was alive and we wanted very much to show them something that they could be proud of and learn more about the man. Very disappointed!
