“A Beautiful Park with Interesting Features”
Reviewed January 22, 2014

This is a beautiful park that is close to the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola and more. It is a pleasant place to visit and there was plenty of security guards visible at all times. Bathroom facilities are also available.

Is it amazing or a "must visit"? No - but it is a nice park that seemed well kept. A great place for family fun and relaxing.

The Good:
There is plenty of room in this park for picnics, throwing a Frisbee, and just enjoying being outside. There is lots of beautiful grass areas, and several great things to see such as the Olympic rings water fountain, the Quilt Of Remembrance, and other areas on the edge of the park. You also get a nice look at SkyView Atlanta (the Ferris wheel).

The Bad:
Finding free parking can be an issue, but there is plenty of paid parking available if you are visiting other nearby attractions.

If you visit the Georgia Aquarium or World of Coca-Cola, this is a short walk away and would be worth walking around. We enjoyed it on a beautiful, warm, blue sky day - the park made being outside that much more enjoyable.

“If you are in the area”

I wouldn't waste a trip to see the park- but you cannot miss it if you are in the City center. A nice stroll, but no great attraction at all.

“Centennial Park”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

Interesting, beautiful place to walk around with the family. My family and I were lucky enough to be there during the Christmas season. The park was beautifully lit with many red and white lights. The water fountain in the shape of the Olympic rings was fun. At certain times throughout the day the fountain would "dance" to music. The crowd really got into it! Watch out though if you sit too close you could get wet. Overall I felt very safe and comfortable in this very public section of the city. It is a beautiful place to enjoy some outside time with the family.

“Typical....but Nothing Amazing”
Reviewed January 1, 2014 via mobile

I was there for the first time New Years 2014.
I realize the park was designed and built in 1996 for the Olympics, so it's a bit old. Yeah it's a nice park, but nothing spectacular.
A pretty plain fountain with the five Olympic rings. Come on people, is that the best the US can do? A few statutes/art work, but again not overly amazing.
What would WOW people? What about a computer controlled fountain that "painted" pictures on a special wall with colored water? What about interactive exhibits? What about botanical displays that are more than simple hedges.
To be honest, I can imagine park designers from a century ago would turn over in their grave to see there's really nothing new in the 21st century as far as parks go.

“Beautiful Park”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

This park has a great playground for the children. In the middle of the park is the Fountain of Rings http://www.centennialpark.com/index.php/things-to-do/fountain-of-rings
For more information go to Centennial Park's website. You will find a schedule for the Fountain of Rings on their site. Overall great location and a beautiful park to visit! The Georgia Aquarium is across the street from the playground area.
