Owner description: This extraordinary zoo, one of the oldest in the U.S., underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in the 1980s and is still expanding. Its landscaping replicates the natural habitats of the numerous animals, some of which are endangered species. Four panda bears from China delight the crowds, and groups of gorillas separated by moats do their own share of entertaining.
Useful Information: Activities for young children, Activities for older children

Love visiting the zoo just don't get there like I used to. Great animals, special exhibits, and landscaping. The overnight camp is a lot of fun also

We found this zoo to be one of our least favorite zoos we have visited (including The Seattle, Portland, Columbus, San Diego , D.C. zoos among a few). The nicest areas are some of the Africa & Asia exhibits, but other areas felt older & run down. We were given half price admission for 3 adults and 1 child (winter price) and still paid $44. Took us a little over 2 hours but we don't have small children stopping to play. Can't imagine paying full price for the quality of this zoo. Hopefully annual membership is a better deal for locals. This was a pleasant afternoon but our least favorite attraction while visiting Atlanta.

Its a great zoo. They have it well designed. You walk up and down the path threw the trees is very nice. Lots of benches to rest on if needed. Aaac service heating and air Mcdonough recommends you buy the Family pass, Its good for a year. You get 2 adults and 4 kids . We upgraded ours with a nanny pass. Now we have 3 adults. It also came with a couple free onetime use passes for 2 friends. It was a great price and its TAX DEDUCTIBLE. It would have cost about the same as paying for the family to go once and it comes with a lot of benefits. We go 3 times a year. Some people that live near by use this as a safe place to take walks. The zoo has a lot of activities for members you can even pay to be a keeper for the day.Feeding the elephants fills up months in advance. You can pay to feed the Giraffe about 2 o'clock every day. There is a kids play area in the park as well.

But what they have they do well. 4 pandas. Very nice gorilla enclosures. And a good size petting zoo and children's area.

We visited this zoo on a Saturday in January and were pleasantly surprised. It is a pretty good zoo and only one of four in the country to see the giant Pandas.
