Owner description: This extraordinary zoo, one of the oldest in the U.S., underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in the 1980s and is still expanding. Its landscaping replicates the natural habitats of the numerous animals, some of which are endangered species. Four panda bears from China delight the crowds, and groups of gorillas separated by moats do their own share of entertaining.

Well situated zoo. All of the animals seemed comfortable to spite the plus 100 temps. Bathrooms were very clean and food was pretty good.

I really enjoyed the zoo. Eventhough it was smaller than Bx zoo, i really enjoyed the panda & their playful ways. Excited to see Nathan's hotdogs! Excited to see all the animals eventhough it was a hot day. Plan to come again with the kids when we visit atlanta.

We had a city pass so we didnt pay full price admission but even with not paying full price it wasnt worth it. We went on 4th of July is wasnt busy. Hardly any of the animals were in their areas. IF they were there was only one of the animals. I had always heard about their great panda exhibit, there is no exhibit. There was ONE panda in an enclosed area thta you watch through the glass. There was other areas for a panda, but signs has been placed in it that said, "there is no pandas here". You walk into the "exhibit" area on this big hill and myself and others were disappoionted with what was there. The panda did alot while we were there watching. For everything they put on the news and such this was a big let down. If we had paid full price we would have been more upset than we were. The good things were the rock wall and the lil train and there was no lines for anything. The gift shop prices were reasonable too.

This zoo is relatively small compared to other zoo's I've been to. Its in the middle of a very urban area. There isn't much parking on zoo property, but ample street parking around the area. You can bring water/snacks in the zoo (which is good as a soda is $2.50) The animals didn't seem to have much space to roam with the exception of the gorillas and the pandas. There were plenty of animals out, even though the temperatures were record high. Overall good trip, but only took about 2 hours.

P.s. Train ride is a JOKE...it rides around the children's area, which consists of a bouncy house, a carousel and a small playground.

Wasn't too crowded despite being a holiday week.
