Heard from so many this was a must-visit if you go to Atlanta. Even listed on Pinterest for things to do in 48 hrs in Atlanta. It may have been a great place in the past, but no longer. It smelled, was dark and the kiosks in the street sold junk. Can't say much better for the retail stores either. Wanted a guided tour, but they only do them at 9:30a.m., Thurs-Sun. So we did our own self guided tour. Railroad depot fenced off & used as a private venue--would have loved to see interior. Interesting to know how this was created, but you can read about it online. Thinking it would be similar to the Seattle Underground, we were anxious to visit. Not worth it, unless you want to say you've "Been there, done that!" Couldn't wait to get back to hotel & take a shower :p

Very few shops still open, nearly a ghost town. Was extremely disappointed with the Underground and all of the hoopla that is built-up, of which it is not.

Had family in town for the July 4th holiday, we all went to Underground Atlanta and it was EMBARRASSING! Looks like the place is on the verge of closing. Water fountains no longer working, we all felt like we were in a deserted shopping mall. All the stores sell the same thing "cheap" off market clothing, jewelry, souvenirs. The food court is scary too, couldn't pay me to eat there. We were there on a Saturday. I hope the city of Atlanta plans on doing something about this place. Don't go not worth it.

Now I must say that this was a different experience for me. Being able to shop outdoors and literally underground was quite different. I'll say that I really didn't feel safe, but the police and security presence put my mind at ease.

There is not much to do here. There is a food court and a bunch of kiosks to look at trinkets. If you want to spend money this is the place for you!! We were basically dissapointed.
