Great location for visiting and walking in 'proper' Spain. The hotel's' ambience and feel is second to none, Food is out of this world and rooms are comfortable. It is difficult to believe that the new chef could surpass the achievements of Gordon, but he has!
What greater accolade could it be than 'it feels like home'.
You will not be disappointed.

We had such a comfortable stay. We visited El Molino some years ago for lunch but on this occasion we decided to stay overnight. It was perfect. Such a lovely location. We were lucky with the weather and I just wish I had packed my swimsuit as the pool looked so inviting. We cannot fault the service, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I will be taking a group of 50+ next month for lunch and have every confidence that all will love it. Mrs Joan Josey.

We have been guests at Molino, on three occasions and it gets five stars from us. All aspects of the experience, contact, accommodation, service, menus and food presentation are all excellent and it offers good value for money. We pay particular tribute, for the above to the owners, who have continued to make the hotel, a haven of peaceful tranquility in a very unique location. Ann& Geoff

Room Tip: We have tried, the garden rooms, with plenty of space and comforts, room 14 in the hotel is smaller...

Stayed one night at the beginning of April. The room was perfect. The food excellent. The staff courteous. Even the awful weather did not spoil this delightful mini break. Thank you would love to come again and stay longer.

No doubt why Molino has such excellent reviews, it is lovely! Tranquil and comfortable with great rooms and good food! The staff are brilliant cheerful and helpful and you have to give credit to the
owner for that. It is a happy house and you would be hard pushed to find anything to better this place in its category. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay from start to finish :)

Room Tip: It seems they are all good and vary only slightly in space, location, terrace etc It really depends...

At the end of March I participated in an cooking and walking holiday offered by HF Holidays, a British company I've been walking with for years. This was their first holiday based at the Molino del Santo in Benaojan, very near Ronda, Spain. We were the guinea pigs, I guess, for this program and it was a wonderful occasion. We had a couple full days of hiking, some half days, three cooking afternoons and as if that weren't enough to keep us busy, we also visited a cheese, a sausage and an olive oil factory. My husband and I had spent a night at the Molino nearly 20 years and I was delighted to be able to stay there again. On our first visit the Molino had, I think, only 7 rooms and now it has nearly 20. It's still run by Pauline and Andy, a British couple who have done a fantastic job of updating and improving the property. The meals now are quite exotic and reliably delicious. The house wine is very good and the bar was very popular. The new young chef, Alberto, showed great patience with our invasion of his kitchen (12 of us - One Spaniard, one American and 10 English). The hotel sits in a garden full of flowers, even in March and has a river running next to it, so the sound of a waterfall is ever present, very soothing. The lovely heated swimming pool is long enough for swimmers actually to swim laps in. There is a pretty good library of books in English and a lounge with a fireplace. Reception, dining room and room staff were very helpful and attentive. The rooms are simple and comfortable, with no tv, which I never turn on anyhow. My room #2, on the ground floor was fine and the bathroom had double sinks. There is a mini-fridge, good sized closet and dresser and lights on both sides of the beds (twins snugged up together). For those English speakers who like to be understood without shouting when they travel they will find that most of the fellow guests are British and many of the staff speak good English. The hotel is within walking distance of the railroad station so you can get to Ronda easily or to any of the villages on the line running to Algeciras, although there aren't many trains per day so you have to plan carefully.

It was my second visit to Molino del Santo but the first this year (2014). We had an excellent meal, very good quality food served in pleasant surroundings. It was too cold to be outside but if it is warm enough then book an outside table next the stream. Lovely setting to have a meal. Excellent service and very attentive staff. Good varied menu with lots of choices. There is the À la carte menu with dishes individually priced or a Menu of the day for €25 for 3 courses which is excellent value for money given the quality of the dishes and the hotel. One of us had the Menu of the day and I chose from the normal menu - no difference in quality, presentation or portions! I can highly recommend this restaurant and it is probably the best dining in the vicinity of Benaojan and Montejaque. We did not stay at the hotel so I am unable to comment on the bedrooms but I suspect that given the quality of the rest of the hotel they will be very good.
