“Loved this place!”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

We stayed at the Molino del Santo for one night during a two-week family holiday to Spain, with our two teenage sons. The boys were very grumpy as we approached the hotel as they had the mistaken impression that we were going to some kind of big city, Las Vegas style HOTEL and there we were wending our way through this spectacular countryside and then the beguiling lanes of Benaojan. Their sour mood changed completely as we entered the beautiful grounds of the hotel where a cool blue pool awaited them, were greeted warmly and humourously by Andy and then shown downstairs for free drinks on the gorgeous terrace and a truly delicious menu which for them included hamburgers (homemade) and chips! As for us parents, well we couldn't have had a better time. The hotel is beautiful, friendly and utterly relaxing; the bar/restaurant is fab and great value for money. I had my best meal in Spain there, a warm Moroccan chicken salad which would have been a great dish in the chill of Wales let alone on the lovely, shaded mill terrace. I will be recommending to all my friends (but will keep it secret from anyone I don't REALLY like!).

Andy and the team are wonderful as ever. Food incredible and such a beautiful spot. We can't stop coming back. We love it here. Thai Massage was amazing. If you want to escape and truly relax, can't think of a better place. Schhhhhhh don't let everyone know about it!

Wanted a weekend away from the coast and had a great few days in Molino santo. The food is fantastic (try the abas- they are great), staff are really friendly and the hikes around the area are superb. Really pretty setting and relaxing stay.

The friendly staff help make this a beautiful place to stay. They are happy to speak in English as well as Spanish. The rooms are welcoming and clean. The restaurant is a special place and the food is delicious. There are plenty of areas to sit and relax in and outdoors. There are many places to visit by car our favourites were Grazalema, Antequera and Olvera.

Room Tip: We were in room 8 which had a room for children to share upstairs with own shower room. We were down...

I have stayed at this hotel several times but not for two years. A 5 day visit in early July did not disappoint. The owners continue to pay great attention to detail: they follow up on suggestions; they improve and they maintain a wonderful idyllic spot in the middle of nowhere but with every amenity one would want to ensure a brilliant R&R holiday. Since my last visit, a new chef has appeared and the innovative menu and quality of the locally sourced food is superb. The staff have remained much the same over the years and along with the other 2 in our party, we were welcomed with open arms. The rooms are beautifully furnished and well equipped. The pool is divine with quiet areas available around the pool and throughout the grounds which are beautifully cared for. The general area itself is terrific for local walks and birdwatching. For those thinking they might like to see beyond immediate rest and recuperation, the beautiful and historic town of Ronda is not far and worth a pleasant visit with full amenities available. The local train station of Benaojan will take you on charming day trips. Molino del Santo is like a home from home with no intrusion but everything at your fingertips. It remains delightful and unspoiled. Long may it continue but the secret is getting out and one cannot object to that given the committed attitude and effort of the owners and their staff. Excellent!

Room Tip: All the rooms are charming and individual and all beautifully appointed.

We chose this hotel having heard and read rave reviews for a special birthday. We were not disappointed. A charming hotel in a beautiful location made perfect by owners and staff who went out of their way to ensure we had a good time. No complacency at all. Rooms, gardens and pool reflect the attention to detail that brings a quality experience to the guests. We had a celebratory dinner in the gardens which coincided with the BBQ menu which was superb. There is agGood winelist with many from the local area. We will look forward to our next visit.

Even though we are lucky enough to live on the Costa del Sol - there are times when it is good to have a break from the coast. El Molino provides the ideal retreat. It is in a perfect location, an hour's drive away, with an excellent restaurant set underneath a willow tree and well-appointed rooms. A walk in the surrounding countryside helps burn off the breakfast calories. It is a perfect base from which to explore the Sierra de Grazalema or just relax and take it easy.
The owners and staff are extremely kind, helpful and clearly want you to enjoy your visit.
It is also a good place to aim for when taking visitors to Ronda or into the national park for the day. In fact, we are doing this tomorrow. Lunch followed by a visit to the Payoyo cheese factory in Grazalema. If you like cheese, you'll love this!
