“Tuck me in”

Dora and David are operating in their comfort zone, with no reason to try to impress their guests. The phenomenal library, gallery of art, and marriage of contemporary boutique style decor with homestyle comfort woo guests to settle in and close out the world. Pampering Mother Earth and visitors with "green" products and wholesome organic foods is a priority. The newly renovated rooms with their over-the-top bathrooms are a wonder to behold and a dream to experience. They've got it right, stop in and enjoy this treasure.

This is a lovely B and B located about two long blocks from the Green and then a short walk into town. Barring inclement weather, it is an easy walk to shopping and dining.

The innkeepers, Dora and David, who have owned the Inn for a year, are doing a wonderful job to make the inn inviting and welcoming. Dora had menus of many restaurants in town which made it easier to choose a place to have dinner. There is a very nice library downstairs with walls filled top to bottom with books. There are also many travel books of the area and a shelf full of cd's to play on the Bose radio. There is a small kitchenette where there are drinks in the refrigerator, and baskets of candy all around the first floor. There was also banana nut bread the day of our stay. There is a basket of slippers in the hallway downstairs. We were asked to wear them around the house in the evenings so as to not disturb other guests and it was a nice touch, to be thoughtful of others.

Breakfast was very good: eggs, a choice of breakfast meats and mushrooms and tomato, breads and jams, coffee (French press) and teas. There were guests staying there from Australia, England, and the US and it was very nice to visit with them and share experiences.

This inn is on a main street and if you are a light sleeper, please book a room in the rear of the house as street noise can be a problem early in the morning. We had a very nice room on the side of the house which included a sofa as well as a TV and many magazines. There is a wonderful organic soap, locally made, that can be purchased and I am aggravated that I forgot to do so.

Wireless internet is available and when my computer wouldn't cooperate, Dora sat with me trying to get it to connect. When all tries failed, she offered the use of their computer. About three days after our stay, I received an email from Dora and David, hoping we enjoyed our stay with them. I think it is a wonderful idea to follow up with guests. They really care that you have an enjoyable experience and we did.

We visited Woodstock two years ago and had a very average inn experience and were reluctant to return to an inn for our second visit but the Woodstocker was superb and exceeded our expectations.

Dora and David the innkeepers are so welcoming, it is like visiting old friends!

The room was extremely comfortable with huge complimentary fluffy dressing gowns to laze around in, these are most useful for early morning coffee/tea trips to a small kitchen at the back of the Library where the innkeepers leave tea and coffee for their guests to make and enjoy.

Breakfast was delicious with fantatstic homemade granola, scrumptious breads and best of all not a pancake or french toast in sight. After a couple of weeks in the US we were desperate for sausage and bacon and it was the best we have had in along time.

If you are visiting Vermont, it is worth going out of your way, this is a must.

What a fabulous and interesting place! In the middle of chintzy Woodstock which is more like a Hollywood set than a Vermont town, you expect to find a chintzy B & B. Instead we were in designer territory, straight out of the latest design magazine. Amazing decor, wonderful lights, remarkable bathroom and a very welcoming English couple to greet us.

If you want comfort and loads of ideas for your home, I recommend this place. If you want tradition, they showed us rooms they still keep in the Vermont style.

And on top of that, they serve a gourmet organic breakfast.

Strongly recommended.

We had a couple of lovely nights here in early Sept. David and Dora were the perfect hosts. Very nice and comfortable room (once they have finished redecorating all of the rooms in their style, it will be stunning). The nicest thing about it was feeling so at home, taking advantage of their library of books, board games and free drinks/chocolates. Can't recommend it highly enough.

We spent a week roaming around in New England Sep 9-16, 06, and booked a night in Woodstock, Vermont, in the Woodstocker Inn, a B&B. David and Dora, the hosts were magnificent. David was very much just himself, a most interesting Brit having escaped the corporate world, painting and fixing up additional rooms as we arrived and even as we left. And, Dora was most gracious and skilled at preparing a magnificent breakfast, most unique with all the homemade extras. The old house in which the B&B operates is warm and relaxing. Plenty of parking. A well-stocked library, snacks and chocolates every where you turn, and a very comfortable dining area. We stayed in the Lincoln room. It was most inviting and the king size bed and pillows were the most captivating we recall experiencing. The room was super clean. Hardwood floor. Plenty of room, with a love seat, for two to not feel on top of one another. Only drawback is the traffic noise. The property is located on Route 4, the main drag through town and one of the main highways across Vermont. Best to try to stay toward the back of the house vs. front to minimize it. Location is convenient to lots of points of interest in Vermont as well as New Hampshire. For instance, we drove a few minutes to Dartmouth, in Hanover, NH for dinner. Thanks David and Dora for resting us up for the continuation of our wonderful week in NE, G&S in Tennessee

We stayed at the Woodstocker Inn and we were very happy with everything. The location is perfect with a short, beautiful walk to the center of town. The room was large and spacious and the the king bed was very comfortable. The attention to detail was terrific from large private bathrooms to flat screen TV and bedside reading lights.

If you happen to be up late, you can go to the kitchen where you sill find fresh cakes, cookies, candies, cold beverages, and some fine English tea. Next to the kitchen is the library where we enjoyed our tea and lemon drizzle cake while talking well into the night.

The breakfasts are great with organic coffee, yogurt, homemade compote, and cereals. David and Dora also offer a full complement of hot breakfasts with eggs, omelets, sausages, bacon and fried tomatoes.

David and Dora are wonderful hosts. Their warmth and sense of humor are key ingredients to the warmth and friendliness of their home.
