“Quirky little gem!”
Reviewed September 15, 2013 via mobile

The Woodstocker Inn is a delightful little gem. Totally cool and cozy! Innkeepers, David, Dora (and Daisy Doo) welcome you into their home and and give you a true Woodstock experience. If you enjoy creative and whimsical, you will love this Inn. And corporate conscience is a big plus - - the Inn is Yellow, but run Green, including super soft organic cotton sheets and lots of local, organic food choices! Good food, great hosts, and lots of laughs.

My husband and I spent our 10th wedding anniversary at Woodstocker Inn and it was a thoroughly memorable stay. The sunflower-yellow house is delightful - stylish, a little quirky, not at all precious. Humorous touches create a unique atmosphere, but are not overdone. This is a high-quality establishment in every way. Innkeepers, Dora and David, are on hand without being overbearing. The library is a real plus, with kitchenette attached where one can make a cup of tea or coffee at any time. There are other cozy corners for relaxing too. Good reading material abounds, together with a terrific collection of cookery books. The breakfast is of the highest order - fabulous choices, made to perfection. We treated ourselves to the "high tea" and David's English scones got full marks from me (high praise, from the official scone-maker in our family). Altogether, a fabulous village inn experience, with a difference.

Room Tip: Lincoln room is a little smaller than the rest, but very comfortable.

If you want to take a break from faux antiques and faded pictures of English country scenes then this is the place to come. Our room was more akin to something you would expect in a SoHo boutique hotel, very much urban rather than Vermont rural. David and Dora, as well as being excellent hosts, know everything that is going on around and about and recommended us a very good restaurant for dinner that had just opened (Worthy Kitchen). The breakfasts were excellent (homemade granola and marmalade recommended (separately)) with everything organic and homemade. All in all, everything you need served with a hearty dose of British humour.

It all happened serendiptiously and oh so perfectly. My sister from Berkely, CA was visiting me in Boston and with less than 24 hours notice, decided to find an inn in Woodstock to stay for 2 nights. The Woodstocker Inn was perfect in every way possible. The room we shared (The Shaftesbury) was bright, spacious, clean and has a uniquely comfortable feel to it. Lots of windows. It was perfect for 2 adults traveling together - the beds are on opposite ends of the room and afforded each of us a sense of privacy. Hard to find a B&B with a room that so perfectly accomodates 2 people traveling together. This room definitely did.

The breakfast was healthy and delectable. Everywhere we looked, we foumd amazing selection of current books and magazines. Most intriguing was the art and creative touches we found wherever we looked. 2 days here left us both wanting to stay longer.

The hosts (David, Dora and Daisy Doo) have definitely mastered the fine art of making you feel at home and at same time, making sure that every one of your senses are attended to exquistely.
I will be back.....

Room Tip: The Shaftesbury Room is perfect for 2 adults traveling together and want to share a room.

A definite recommend to anyone staying in Woodstock, VT. My boyfriend and I had an amazing weekend at the Woodstocker in August to celebrate his birthday. The house is beautiful and our hosts D3 (David, Dora and Daisy Doo-dog) are lovely. We loved the British breakfasts. They were delicious! The attention to detail (chocolates in our room, super comfy bed, cleanliness) was superb. Awesome eco friendly hotel which made it even better. D3 was also great in giving us recommendations of area attractions and restaurants. We look forward to our next visit!

Room Tip: The top floor rooms are great but all the rooms are nicely decorated.

We celebrated my 50th birthday at his hotel it was fabulous. The have a first class spa and restaurant and the property is gorgeous! We went off season, the town was quaint and there was plenty to do. The Woodstock Inn is warm and welcoming, with cookies in the afternoon with tea. Breakfast in the hotel was incredible.
