“Best British Breakfast!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2013

We discoverered the Woodstocker Inn via bedandbreakfast.com last spring. We have returned twice since our initial visit, and plan to become "regulars". The inn is very convenient to the Killington ski area, and is only 15 minutes from the SkyeShip lift. So it is in a perfect spot for both skiing and apres-ski, since the Woodstock town center is right around the corner from the inn.

David, Dora, and Daisy Doo are very gracious and charming hosts. We sincerely enjoy our chats with them and swapping travel tales and tips.

Each room at the inn has its own unique color scheme, theme and decor. However, no matter which room you take for the night (or longer), you will love the incredibly comfortable beds, gorgeous soft organic bedding and towels, and deliciously scented bath products.

The English breakfast is top notch and in all honesty is better than breakfasts we have eaten in London! All the offerings are organic and local, and are cooked to perfection.

The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, and D3 are very generous with the chocolate.

We cannot recommend the Woodstocker too highly. We look forward to building more memories there in the future.

We sincerely thank these clients for their compliments. Since we took over the inn seven years ago, we established a standard that we still strive to offer, and high consistent standards are the secret of hospitality. Every repeat client is we hope a satisfied client....

As we proudly state 'We are not just another New England B & B and we wish to excel in our difference'. We are however very biased about pork sausages and European style bacon...and our 'bangers' are the best, supplied by the English Pork Pie company to our own unique recipe!

However we also know we will largely be judged by our most recent reviews and to that end we always welcome all feedback.

From the convenient location, to the beautiful rooms (they look just like their pictures), our stay was top notch. We even were lucky enough to wake up to a magically snow blanketed town. Dora and David were wonderful in every way.

We stayed two nights at the Woodstocker Inn in October 2012. We stayed in the Bradford room which was wonderful - nice spacious room. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was great - loved the shower! We really enjoyed relaxing in the library area after our busy days out and about. The breakfasts were lovely and we appreciated the range of choices. The chocolate bars in the rooms were a lovely touch and enjoyed by both of us.

David, Dora and Daisy-doo were very welcoming and gave us great suggestions for activities and restaurant choices. David was particularly helpful to us prior to our trip which really assisted us with our planning. We loved David's sense of humour and we really enjoyed our chats with him.

Woodstock is a lovely town to visit and we really enjoyed our stay here. We would definitely choose to stay here if we are ever back in this part of the world.

Since retiring 11 years ago, we have stayed at over 150 fantastic B&Bs around the country, several of which have been in Vermont. Unfortunately, the Woodstocker Inn was not one of them and was instead our most disappointing B&B experience. For starters, they felt the need to charge our credit card within 10 minutes after we made the reservation - - 11 months in advance. Then, when we arrived, the first order of business was NOT welcoming us to the inn or showing us our room, but rather "take off your shoes and pay the balance." Perhaps we've been spoiled by the other B&B owners' hospitality. The room was dimly lit, the shower was difficult to climb into and the parking lot was unpaved and very dirty. It was also far too small to accommodate guests' cars. Consequently, our heretofore unscathed Mercedes received not one, but two door dings while parked on the inn's cramped lot.. While all of the food was not repulsive, the so-called delacacies soaked in pigs blood were. Equally disgusting was the innkeepers practice of letting their dog jump on guests and beg for food during breakfast. We are dog people and love our Golden Retriever, but we would never permit him to bother guests, particularly during a meal. For some inexplicable reason, the innkeepers insisted on turning off all interior lights at night, so navigating from one's room to a common area of the house after dark was a challenge at best and painful at worst. OSHA would have a field day there. The parking lot and door to the house were also poorly lit, which made using the keypad entry system difficult to see at night. I didn't realize I needed to carry a flashlight to stay there. Lastly, the owners think it's cute and quaint to require their guests to remove their shoes, but it is actually inconvenient and got really old after the first day. Clearly, the Woodstocker was not our cup of tea, so to speak and was instead the least enjoyable $250 (plus tax) per night that we have ever spent at a B&B. We will not be back.

The owners, particularly David, don't take kindly to constructive criticism and have become very defensive and even hostile in their previous responses to Trip Advisor reviews. Unfortunately, there is no appellate process at Trip Advisor, whereby reviewers may seek redress from such attacks by B&B owners. Therefore, the only recourse reviewers have is to remove their reviews. I fully expect a similar angry and defensive reaction from them to this review, but rest assured I stand by every word of it and absolutely refuse to take it down.

After running into one “NO VACANCY” sign after another on a busy Saturday night in October, we were pointed in the direction of the Woodstocker Inn. Happily, there was one room left at this bright yellow home, and we tucked in for the night. Our hosts, Dora, David and Daisy Doo, made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped in the door. Our large room with two queen beds was a pleasant blend of cozy and sophisticated. The beds, piled with comfy pillows, fluffy duvet and decadently soft linens, were nothing short of amazing, assuring a good nights sleep. Add in the wonderful towels and bathrobes as well as the basket of candy bars, and the room had everything one could want. The morning breakfast was made to order, along with a sideboard offering yogurt and homemade granola, fresh-baked bread, jams, teas, and coffee. All served in a lovely room designed for lingering. A delicious way to start to the day! We reluctantly checked out, but with hopes that if our travels ever bring us back to Vermont, we’ll find a room at the Woodstocker Inn.

I had a chance to stay in Woodstock for a few days for some well needed R and R. This property is exceptional. The owners are wonderful. The food and service was great. Worth the trip if you are looking for a get away. Ed from Dennis MA

Room Tip: As the owners. They are very accomodating.

We stayed for 2 nights as a mini-honeymoon at the beginning of November. Innkeepers were in Europe but had a wonderful couple filling in for them. Rooms were spacious, and we were offered an upgraded room, too. The best mattress I have ever slept on! Breakfast was delicious and offered something for everyone from the health-conscious to the meat eater. Delicious smoked salmon! Loved the chocolates (full size chocolate bars in the room!) everywhere. We also loved meeting their dog, Daisy Doo, as it's always sad to leave our pups at home. She is impeccably mannered and just the sweetest thing. Can't wait to go back and would recommend this to anyone!
