We were completely thrilled with our stay! The partnership of Chris and Matt is exceptional. They didn't leave anything out; we were treated like royalty! The food was excellent! The Inn was very lovely and clean. Jim and Gayle from Nebraska.

We stayed at the Jackson House at the end of our 20 days on the east coast. It was the perfect end to a very long road trip and every night in a hotel. The Inn is beautiful, but what makes the Inn outstanding is Matt and Chris, their attention to detail, the care they take to accommodate special request, and the cheerful greeting every morning made the stay a life time memory. If your in Vermont, this is a must anytime of year! The best view is on the 3rd floor, the room is larger with a view place and balcony.

Room tip: If space is important, choose the 3rd floor room, has a balcony, fire place and sitting area

From the warm greeting to the sad farewells, our stay at Jackson House Inn could not have been better. We have owned a home in Killington for many years and so had little experience staying at any of the local B&Bs or Inns, and we wanted our friends' first experience of Vermont to be special. Once we decided to base the trip in Woodstock, Jackson House was an easy choice.

The exterior is charming and very inviting with beautiful flowers and a welcoming front porch with comfortable chairs. The back property is a blend of serene beauty with the gardens and fish pond as well as practicality with the working chicken coop, supplying really fresh eggs for Chris' amazing morning creations.

The interior of the Inn is stunning. Every room has inviting spaces, lovely artwork and local craftsmanship on display. The dining room overlooks the gardens and the convenient bar and wine racks gave us great pleasure at both ends of the day. We occupied the two suites on the third floor of the main house, which share a beautiful balcony. It was the perfect place to have happy hour and watch the sun set and stars emerge. Heaven.

Our suite was spacious, immaculate and quiet. We slept deeply and met each morning ready for another day of Vermont exploration. Matt graciously answered our questions, provided great recommendations and accommodated our numerous requests! I look forward to a cookbook Chris promised he write, and to our next opportunity to enjoy the Jackson House Inn. Thank you Matt and Chris.

Room tip: Travel with friends and book the 2 third floor suites - you will LOVE it.

The Jackson House Inn is a real find. The inn dates back to the 1890s with additions in 1992. Our room was comfortable and beautifully decorated with a spacious bath. There are many wonderful public rooms to enjoy. The grounds were spacious and beautiful. Very restful and peaceful with many chairs spread about to enjoy the scenery. The breakfasts were generous and absolutely delicious and inventive. Farm fresh eggs from chickens right on the property. Matthew and Chris, the innkeepers, could not have been nicer and worked hard to spoil us and ensure a great stay. We will return.

We had stayed at the Jackson House several times before over many years, during the tenures of several innkeepers. It has always been a premier experience, but successive innkeepers continue to improve that experience. New innkeepers Chris and Matthew excel as hosts, welcoming guests even as they arrive in the parking lot. Matthew serves up creative cocktails in the cozy bar during the late afternoon, and Chris cooks up delicious and hearty breakfasts in the morning, which may include eggs from the new on-site chicken coop. The lovely guest rooms are thoughtfully appointed and very comfortable, and the beautiful grounds offer several outdoor "rooms" to relax in during good weather. The inn's location on a carriage road outside the center of town makes it a quieter choice than many in-town locations.
