Very clean and comfortable accommodations decorated beautifully for the fall. The landscaping and grounds around this historic inn are breathtaking. Rick made dinner reservations for us at a local tavern and his recommendation was a good one. This was our first night ever in New England and our first impression was wonderful.

From the moment you walk in the door you realize that this is a very special place. Kathy and Rick have put together the complete package. Their attention to detail is obvious. The place is immaculate and beautifully decorated. The grounds are mesmerizing. Rick is an outstanding/passionate cook who presents every dish with a full description. Kathy and Rick take time to explain and help you with every detail of your trip. I wish we had more than one night here and even a day to hang out on the property. It is a place you do not want to leave-especially when the weather is gorgeous. I've stayed in many B&B's over the years, and I consider the Jackson House Inn one of the finest.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Christine room. It was beautifully decorated, spacious, and had an extremely comfort...

Hubby and I stayed 2 nights in Sept at Rick and Kathy's Inn right outside Woodstock. There isn't much I can add to the other reviews, only a personal note that I am hard to impress as I travel for a living, but this was a truly wonderful stay.

The inn and grounds are beautiful and have clearly been carefully renovated by the owners. The leaves were just starting to turn and the views from our room and dining room of the back of the property were absolutely beautiful. The rooms are clean and comfortable, nicely decorated.

The breakfast is indeed unique and Rick obviously has a passion for cooking and food. If you are a foodie like me, you will enjoy the unique offerings every day. But kudos to Rick for noticing that my husband was not an adventerous eater after the first day. He went out of his way to ask about it and offered a simpler breakfast for him the next day. Really impressive as we could have asked but did not but Rick went out of his way to please his palette with an offering that was still local and delicious. It was not necessary for him to offer but was TOTALLY appreciated by us.

A very, very personable couple that seem to be born to be innkeepers! We had a long chat after breakfast on our departure day. We came to realize that though it must be exhausting to tend to so many different individuals coming through their inn, that Rick and Kathy do it with grace and ease. I wish them the best of luck and success (no doubt they will have it because they work sooooo hard!)

We loved our stay here and will return!

This gem was referred to us by a friend, as well as my husband (separately) finding the high reviews online. This is one of the most beautiful, refreshing, scenic places we have ever stayed at. We had read about what a personal touch guests receive from Kathy and Rick, the Innkeepers, however it didn't even compare to how truly warm and caring they are toward every guest! From the moment you walk in to the moment you check out, you are treated like gold, with wine served upon arrival, to the delectable (truly 5 star!) breakfast the next morning, and anything else you may need (reservations in town, recommendations, etc.) we only wish we stayed longer, and if our travels bring us back to Vermont, we will definitely stay there! Highly, highly recommend it to everyone!!

My husband and I both work in hotels and I have to agree with the many reviews already posted, this place is top notch. From the welcome you receive when you arrive till your time of departure it truly is an incredible service experience. The rooms are very nice, the grounds well maintained, the food is fantastic. The hosts Rick and Kathy could not be nicer and their knowledge of the area just adds to the overall experience. I would highly recommend this place to anyone- it made for a very memorable weekend!

If you are coming to Vermont to relax and unwind, this is definitely the place to stay. The Jackson House Inn is owned and operated by Rick and Kathy. They are exceptionally great hosts. They take the "Bed & Breakfast" very seriously. Rick sources organic foods from local sources and makes a truly unique breakfast that you will never forget. Kathy has done an outstanding job decorating the Inn and finding the most comfortable bed and bed linens you will ever sleep in. Kathy is very responsive and accommodating to all requests prior to and during your stay. Together they have done an outstanding job restoring the house and grounds. They have a passion for providing guests with the best experience possible and you can be assured to have a very memorable experience.

Rick and Kathy are also very knowledgeable of the surrounding area and can provide you with great guidance in selecting activities of interest in the area. Vermont has beautiful country sides with a lot to see and do.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that faces the back side of the property.

During my thirty+ years of work, I was booked by my travel professionals in many top of the line places on six continents throughout the world. Jackson House in Woodstock ranks among the very best. No question about that. Ambiance, comfort, food, attention to detail, as examples. In addition, one could not encounter a finer hostess and host. (I have never before taken my time to write a review; this B & B deserves one.)
