Great food--such pleasant service--the biscotti and the lattes are so great-we ate lunch here one day then ran in on the way out of town for biscotti and lattes to go!

For breakfast and lunch, very good, often local food, freshly prepared, friendly service in very comfortable surroundings.
Light and airy inside, seasonal, outdoor seating. Take out available.

From walking in the door we felt welcome and relaxed. The food was incredible and the service impeccable. We own a restaurant on Cape Cod and appreciate the effort that goes into this operation. My granddaughter picked the restaurant and insisted we go there each day of our stay. She even told her Mom to stop there on our way back to Cape Cod for sandwiches to enjoy during the trip. We love the family feel and attention to detail.

We drove Route 7 to enjoy the last of the foliage.

First to Manchester Center where we were surprised to find many
stores now empty and not many spots open for lunch.

On to Woodstock only to discover the high end consignment store
we had visited several times was also gone.
The good news is that a small café now occupies that space. Mon Vert Café is a jewel.
We had a superb lunch. The menu is diverse and the sandwiches are served on
home made breads. Hope to get a chance to go back to try a breakfast and stay
for another lunch.
Spent the afternoon browsing Woodstock stores.

Tried "Who Is Sylvia", a vintage clothing and linen store but the smell of mold and
unwashed items drove us away.

Next door was "Primrose Garden". The store is filled with unusual items in all price
ranges and smelled of berries.(The scent was especially welcome after the vintage
store smell.) Piano music on the speakers and access to a porch overlooking the river.
Found several things to purchase here.

Next to "Unicorn" another gift shop with fun items. Bought stuff here too.

Later dinner at"The Woodstock Inn". Recently renovated, it could be In NYC.
Definitely not what you expect in rural New England. Décor is stark and sterile
and the menu limited. Will not dine there again

This lovely café simply does the perfect breakfast. Everything is TOP quality, and the ambience is just right for starting your day. Try granola, fruits and scrumptious yogurt - and then some multi grain toast - oooooooh, yummy.
