We have stayed there many times while the inn was owned by the Comins' and the inn was warm and welcoming. The decor has been changed and is awful from its "urban" style dining room to the loss of the sitting room which is now the "tavern". I remember playing backgammon in the sitting room on a cold and snowy day with a huge fire blazing. The easy-going hospitality of the owners made you feel at home. We never saw the owners on this 3 day stay. Our room is advertised as having a jacuzzi tub. A rather permanent looking sign told us it was "temporarily out of order". Having stayed in that room before I knew about tub and chose that room for that feature. The room was cold, the hot water took 10 to 15 minutes to come up and did not last long. The food was unprofessional. My husband ordered the red snapper and everything on his plate was beige. It did not look appealing. It's true that you cannot go back.

It was a spur of the moment Presidents Weekend decision. I found the Kedron Valley Inn web site, which was very nice and easy to navigate, and saw that ONE room was available.
So I called and reserved the room immediately.
When we showed up, the grounds were spectacular. A grand, quaint and cozy entrance. The woman and the front desk was fun and entertaining. She helped us with our dinner reservations later that evening and sent us to our room on the third floor. Room 17.
As we opened the door, my wife and I were in "aw". Huge King bed, sitting room with wood burning fire place, huge jacuzzi tub (which was not functioning), dual sinks, it was all AWESOME!
We took a ride (10 min.) into Woodstock to walk around. Most of the stores were closed, so we grabbed a bottle of wine from The Butcher Shop and headed back to Kedron Valley Inn. It was at this point that we were glad that we didnt stay at the "famous" Woodstock Inn. It was too big and over developed.
Made it in time for dinner. More amazingness!
Chourizo & Queso Blanco Fritters (appetizer)
Dinner:Chicken and Dumplings, Braised Short Ribs
Dessert: Nutty Irishman Cheesecake with Coffee Brittle
Everything was simply unreal!
We checked out the next morning and went to Killington.
By far the Kedron Valley Inn was the highlight of our trip…and will be back FOR SURE!

Our stay at Kedron was a wonderful get-away.....no complaints. We have been there many times and have noticed a lot of improvements with the new owners, i.e. WiFi, Internet, refrigerator in room, 24/7 coffee available, etc. The restaurant offered a lovely Valentine's Day menu and the breakfasts every morning are incredible. Ruth at the front desk was so helpful in planning our day to Hanover, N.H. It seems a lot of renovations are still in the works and that will make it even better for our next visit. Can't wait to return.

The welcoming friendly atmosphere of the Kedron Valley Inn captivates you as soon as you go through the front door. The rooms are great size and very clean. We slept like a log up there by the mountains in the very comfortable bed. The entire staff is very hospitable and knowledgeable and will do everything possible to enhance your stay. They will really go out of their way to make sure have a great stay with activities, dinning choices, best skiing etc. The Kendron Valley Inn is a perfect place to get away and relax. We highly recommend it.

OUTSTANDING !!! The staff was friendly, accomodating and knowledgable - the food was excellent - breakfast and the breakfast room fabulous - our room was so comfortable - like being at home only better - really felt very welcome there - the landscape in vermont is spectacular - winter or any other season - went on a sleigh ride on one of the coldest days of the year but that didn't matter - the warmth of all the people we met both at the inn and all over the area made up for any lack of temperature outside - can't wait to go back - we've vacationed in Vermont alot and the inn is the best yet - Thanks again to everyone there for a most memorable and relaxing vacation !

We booked Rm 30 for the family, which had a loft twin bed area upstairs with a spacious kitchen. The open fire in downstairs main bedroom was a pleasant touch, although the central heating throughout was quite adequate. We were a bit concerned that the room may not have been aired much, a bit musty, but might have been from previous open fires? The rooms in the main building might have been more historic than these adjacent cabins. The breakfasts were very good, evening meal OK.
The 5m from Woodstock was not really an issue with the car, more relaxed.

If you want the genuine antique (early 19th century) Inn expeirence, but with some 21st century bathrooms & service ( no cell reception.....not a bad thing... but good internet.....even better) you'll love this inn.
If you're a real equestrian.... no tata rides....the best stables around are just down the street at the Kedron Valley Stables......the most beautiful scenic day rides in the East !
