“Great Place To Do Nothing and Something!!”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

MY wife and I had the pleasure of staying at KVI for four days/three nights for the Thanksgiving holiday. KVI is located on the outskirts of Woodstock Vermont -- rural, quiet idyllic!! The Inn has a historical lineage -- founded in 1820. Is is quaint, charming, homey, gracious and personal. The General Manager, Wendy, attends with great detail and care to all of your personal wants and needs. Right from the meet and greet moment, Wendy and her staff make you feel as if you are family (the ones you want to see on a holiday)!!! The accommodations are excellent, the food superb. As you can imagine, being an historic complex, KVI is in constant renovation and restoration mode. Here and there there may be a few inconveniences, but the rewards of the KVI experience shadow the "small stuff". If you are looking for a quiet getaway, where you can do absolutely nothing -- walking around the pond, enjoying the woodlands -- or doing something close to nature and visit places like sugar bush farms (maple syrup and cheese country), the KVI is the place to go. Looking forward to a return visit next year. Rudy and Cathy Fiorillo

Room Tip: The cabin lodge we were in was fantastic -- haven't seen the other rooms -- Room 31 was wonderfu...

We were traveling with our 8 year old and appreciated the warm welcome we received (most of the inns in the area we called don't allow children). Our room was in the log cabin building and had a queen and a twin bed, which was perfect for us. We also had a wood-burning fireplace, flat screen TV, and mini fridge. The carpet and paint appeared to be new, and the room was very clean. Our stay included breakfast and offered some terrific choices, with everything home-made. The pancakes with local syrup are the best!

The staff was full of suggestions for local activities that we could all enjoy, We'd love to come back in the summer to relax by the beach and swim in the beautiful pond located right on the property. Overall, a very nice place for a family getaway.

We recently stayed here and loved this place. It is a small, old quaint Vermont inn located 5 miles south of Woodstock. Inn is well maintained and clean. Our room had real wood burning fireplace! We stayed in the main inn. Room had new bathroom and flat screen tv. Bead was comfortable.. Restaurant served an excellent dinner.

Room Tip: We preferred the room in the main building. The lodge out back had more of a motel look to it.

Nice room, and building, but the floor of the room we had was on quite a slant, which was a bit disconcerting. Try and avoid the days when the proper chef is off as the cooked breakfast wasn't up to much when she wasn't.

Room Tip: Don't really have any tips to help with this. No elevators, so probably best not to take too muc...

Arriving at the Kedron Vally Inn was quite a disappointment. It is situated right on a bend in the road so headlights and car noise spoil the experience of being in the country. The overall atmosphere was a bit depressing. There was no life at all. A big porch with only two chairs. A big empty dining room. Reception not very interested in us. The carpets and stairwells threadbare. The wooden floors squeaky. Needs serious upgrading. Nothing interesting in the immediate vicinity. Not cheap. Better to find a little place in Woodstock and pass this one by.

We were excited to be able to stay in a quaint country inn, however, when we arrived, we found our room was at the back over the dining room. We asked about the heat in the room, noting that it seemed cold and were advised that the thermostat control was in the adjoining room and that we would not be able to regulate our room- not to worry though, there was a space heater. We returned after dinner, and the room was stone cold. We plugged in the heater and it was too weak to make a difference. My husband went to the desk (no phones in the room) and when they came dot see about the problem, they finally made an adjustment. The room was noisy- we were part of the conversation of the dinner groups below us in the dining room. Not enough light in the room to be able to read either. I am pretty easy going and don't ask for much, but light, heat and quiet are basics. Would I stay here again? No.

My husband and I visited the Kedron Inn during a foliage trip to Vermont. We found it to be a perfect place to spend a few nights. Our room was located in the Tavern Building and was very large, newly renovated and quite comfortable. The bathroom was brand new and there was free wi-fi and a flat screen TV. Despite the modern amenities, the entire property was very historic and atmospheric in an "old New England" way. For those people wanting an authentic Vermont experience, this is it. We also ate in the historic dining room and truly enjoyed it as well -- outstanding fresh produce from local farms. Located just south of Woodstock, this is a excellent place to stay. We will be back.
