The chowder was good. The New York strip was ok but they put the steak on top of the French fries making them soggy. My husband had the salmon which was properly cooked but he didn't like the entree with the barley.

We ate at Richardson's three times at our stay and absolutely loved it. I recommend the Indian Paintbrush to start your meal - a fantastic mixed drink. The steaks were great as were the deserts. Every meal was a treat and one can't go wrong on the menu.

Richardson's has good atmosphere and good service. The food is average -- our party had burgers, fish tacos, and salmon - none were extraordinary, but none were bad either. I suspect that it's a better place for a drink and snack, than dinner.

We walked to the tavern from the Blue Horse Inn looking for a burger or something light. We sat on the porch and although there is street right there we were high enough and the landscaping blocked out 99% of the road noise. The pulled pork sandwich was great, the burger came the way it was ordered and even though they weren’t on the menu when we asked for sweet potato fries to go with the fish sandwich there was no problem. For a restaurant attached to the Inn prices were reasonable for food and drinks.

The mood of the resteraunt was superlative, the food exquisite. It was a pleasant walking distance, too from the center of town and our rooms. Everyone on the wait staff were extrememly friendly and the cooks created some of the tastiest food I have had so far in Vermont. I would definatly recommend this tavern for both children and adults. Will definitely go back.
