My sister and I found this wonderful bistro while leaf peeping in the charming town of Woodstock Vermont. We both love ethic food, so were excited to find Caribbean food in a New England town. For starters, we had a bowl of savory pumpkin bisque. Then we ordered tapas: ceviche, mofongo, tostone cups (with chicken sofrito), and arepas. It was all very delicious and attractively plated. Our waiter was very helpful and courteous, and service was quick.

We were very surprised to have enjoyed a Caribbean style meal in Vermont, in the fall. The food was quite delicious. The menu was varied, the wait staff was good and efficient and the ambiance was not over the top.

This bistro has a very creative menu....some of their tapas was great, others could have been better. Since tapas means small plates you can taste many different things here or, order a full size dish like Arroz conPollo and enjoy one thing. The drinks were very good and reasonably priced. The only problem we had was the wait staff was overwhelmed. They tried to keep up with demand, but could not. Maybe help should be expanded to accomodate diners. Drinks were served way after some of the tapas came out. The waitress said "things were a bit behind" so we were not surprised. One note, the fish tacos were not good. We were surprised at this, but the waitress took them off the bill and asked us to try again. Could not ask for more than that.....

had dinner last night and was disappointed in service from the beginning. Hostess said she'd bring water, had to a ask waiter later when didn't get served. Ordered drinks and tapas, took way too long for drinks, served wrong beer that was ordered. ordered two tapas, was told one might be sold out so ordered back up if all out. served three tapas, one was suppose to be chicken, served port. Decided to split entree, never served salad that comes with entree, served entree and no plates to split dish.

On a positive note, the food was great!

I should have had more staff scheduled for that evening due to the promotion of $5 tapas, we indeed were shorthanded for the amount of people that came, and you in particular got a server in training that still is not 100% familiar with the menu. Our Caribbean menu is difficult to learn. I take full responsibility for your bad experience with the services that you had that evening.
We hope that this does not deter you from returning.

A pleasant surprise to find Caribbean dishes on the main street of Woodstock,VT. Small, cozy, visually appealing, a little loud, but it's a bistro, right? From start to finish the meal was fresh, tasty, and also visually appealing. To start, a chicken empanada offered a spicy seasoned crisp tortilla stuffed with chicken. My flat iron steak was easily cut with the butter knife, no need for that steak knife. The potato croquette was moist on the inside (stuffed with chorizo) and crispy on the outside. The string beans and slivers of carrots were al dente, so fresh and crisp with just the right amount of seasoning. My husbands Arroz con Pollo served with avocado wedges, rice and peas was also a dish emitting freshness and savory seasonings. No room for dessert unfortunately. A great place to return to if ever in Woodstock, VT again.
