A beautiful inn built in the early 1800s and perfectly situated on the Ottaquechee River in Woodstock within walking distance of restaurants, shops and attractions. Tony and Jill completely restored the inn recently, and Jill’s exquisite taste shows in every room and detail. Our best memory is sitting in the chairs at the peaceful river bank on a lovely fall afternoon with a tasty baguette, Vermont cheeses and wine, all purchased at the local farmer’s market. Breakfast every day is a delicious three-course meal that sets you up for the day - no need for lunch! Tony and Jill are warm and engaging hosts, ready with a recommendation, maps and reservations for restaurants and things to do. The only place we’ll ever stay in Woodstock.

Room tip: Room 4 is cozy and welcoming, quiet with a view of the river and away from the street. Loved it!

What a wonderful inn! My extended family and our dog, Hannah went to Vermont for a family reunion in Northfield, The Blue Horse Inn was actually the high-light of our trip. My daughter and her husband packed the car and took their three girls out of school early so we could enjoy the late afternoon and evening at the inn. Tony and Jill couldn't have been more welcoming. We were given a tour of the common rooms and shown to our rooms. Everything was beautiful! My three teenage granddaughter stayed in a large suite with our dog. Tony even loaned us a dog bed and a tray for under the dog food and water. I had a small but beautiful and comfortable room next to the girls and my daughter and her husband had a luxurious room on the second floor. The rooms were beautifully decorated and incredibly comfortable. I wish we could have stayed longer. On Saturday we had a super breakfast and then we went to our reunion. It was so pleasant at the inn that I couldn't wait to get back after a few kisses and hugs with relatives. My son and his wife returned with us and were shown their room. I would love to go again and just stay at the Blue Horse Inn with my family of eight and
my son's two older children who had just returned to school and missed the party. We were pampered and truly fêted by Tony and Jill. We will definitely return for a longer stay and will tell all our friends what a lovely inn you have in Woodstock.

Room tip: Every room looked wonderful to me. Where did Natalie Merchant sleep?

A beautiful and historic inn, wonderful gardens, and hospitality that exceeds anyone's expectations -- the Blue Horse ticks all the boxes!

And the location is just right -- within walking distance for all Woodstock's best attractions.

This jewel,The Blue Horse Inn, was a lovely destination! First trip to New England and I'm sold! Tony and Jill are consummate hosts in this charming and perfectly maintained inn right on the main thoroughfare of Woodstock, VT. The town is very walkable and breakfasts at the inn are works of art which sustain you for most of your day excursions. We stayed four nights at the Blue Horse Inn while crossing over daily in to Hanover to help move our daughter in to Dartmouth. Staying here was a lovely respite and I would recommend it unequivocally.
