There is no doubt the inn is beautiful. However, with the hefty price tag I was not impressed. You could hear every whisper and footstep from inside the room. There was trash still left in the room upon arrival. The vent in the bathroom did not work. The bed was very uncomfortable. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was tasty. I expected more comfort since we paid over $500 for a one night stay. I will not be returning nor recommending this hotel.

Thank you for visiting recently and sharing your concerns. While I’m happy that you enjoyed meeting some of our friendly staff and a delicious breakfast in The Red Rooster, I’m sorry to hear wee let you down in some other respects.

I absolutely agree with you that a properly cleaned guest room is non-negotiable, and I’m sure you understand that what you experienced is very unusual. I wish we’d known of your concerns while you were still here so we could have done something about them, and hope we’ll have the chance to make things right at some point in the near future by welcoming you back to Woodstock for a more representative visit. Please do consider staying for a little longer than just a single night; there is so much to do in and around Woodstock and the village can win over your heart in so many ways, that It’s just not right to sweep through so quickly without taking the time to really pause, relax, and enjoy!

Than you again for the very thoughtful feedback, and it’s important for you to know we appreciate it and will act on it to become an even better property moving forward!

With best wishes,
Rick Reno, Resort Training Manager

This property is pristine in every way-the rooms are cozy and well-appointed, and the public areas are as welcoming as your own home. Sitting in the morning room with a book and coffee or solving puzzles in the library before or after a day strolling through the most beautiful town of covered bridges, quaint shops and stunning century-old homes was so tranquil. There is great value in the ambiance the Woodstock Inn provides.

Thank you for “coming home” to Woodstock recently and commenting on the elegantly relaxed ambience and the overall feeling of peace you enjoyed.

I was especially happy that you enjoyed morning coffee in The Conservatory (did you also catch our terrific afternoon tea, Woodstock-style?); the challenging and beautiful Stave handmade wooden jugsaw puzzles in The Library; and of course the pristine little village with its covered bridges, parks, and quiet lanes for strolling and cycling.

We hope to see you again soon and look forward to sharing more: Billings Farm & Museum perhaps, or Marsh Billings Rockefeller national Historical Park? A unique Signature Treatment in The Spa? Hiking, biking, tennis, or skiing?

The possibilities are limitless!

Thank you again,
Rick Reno, Resort Training Manager

Very disappointed with what we expected to be the best hotel on our New England trip.
Undobtedly this is a fabulous looking hotel and location but unfortunately the receptionists were not welcoming and a bit snooty & condescending.
In the room there were several irritating ( nothing serious) issues: coffee machine didn't work nor fit properly in the cupboard. This was fixed while we were out but nobody told us there were drinks available 4-5pm. On going to bed found the bedside light didn't work nor did the plug keep water in the sink. First world problems but for top dollar and it's reputation I'd expect it to be perfect. We enjoyed better service elsewhere on our New England trip ( see Inn at Bay Point at Meredith for how it should be done)

Thank you for visiting us at The Woodstock Inn & Resort recently and sharing your impressions. While of course I’m glad you found our property attractive, I am very sorry to hear that your visit did not live up to your expectations and hope you’ll visit again so we have the opportunity to regain lost trust.

Thank you especially for pointing out a few “first world problems” that hampered your enjoyment, and I absolutely agree with you that we owe it to you to attend to every detail, every time. I realize this will not alter your experience, but please know that we do appreciate your sharing and actually pay attention to our guests’ observations and work daily to improve the experiences wwe deliver.

We look forward to seeing you again when you have the chance to visit this beautiful community, and I am confident you’ll be much more favorably impressed.

Respectfully,
Rick Reno, Resort Training Manager

Great relaxing couple of days Staff, room, location and hotel were fabulous. Working fireplace in our room was GREAT. Would definitely stay again. Proximity to town was perfect . The local attitude of all the places we went was great. VT has spectacular scenery, restaurants and day trips to take from hotel.

Thank you for visiting recently and for the very kind words about our resort and our wonderful little community. It’s easy to understand why Woodstock is often called the prettiest small town in America, and the warm, welcoming attitude throughout the village just makes it that much better!

We hope to see you again soon for fall colors, or perhaps a winter adventure at our Nordic Center or Suicide Six! The forecast is for a very vibrant (and busy!) foliage season and an unusually snowy winter, which is just what we love to hear.

Please do call our reservations team soon so you can be sure to reserve one of our cozy Tavern Wing suites with its own wood-burning fireplace!

Very truly yours,
Rick Reno, Resort Training Manager

My husband and I were more than pleasantly surprised by the upgrades to the Inn from a visit several years ago. The lobby, restaurants and rooms are nicely appointed, blending tradition with contemporary decor. In the restaurant staff were attentive and accommodating, and the menu offered a variety of options for dining. In terms of recreation there are plenty of activities including complimentary bicycle usage, an outdoor pool onsite, a golf course and gym slightly down the road. We’ll definitely return!

Thank you so much for returning to Woodstock and The Woodstock Inn & Resort recently and sharing yr impressions. We’re constantly working to improve our property and are happy to hear you appreciate the balance we’re trying to strike between the traditional and he contemporary.

While our facilities and décor are important components of this balance, we also work hard with our team to be sure we’re making every guest feel truly welcome and appreciated, and with our activities and amenities to be sure we’re providing something for everyone, all year ‘round!! We’re glad you experienced some of our summer activities and look forward to sharing more with you when you return during the autumn or winter months, which are every bit as beautiful and lively as summer!

Thanks again,
