To stay at the Woodstock Inn is to stay at a gracious and hospitable friend's country home who also happens to have impeccable taste and a friendly and professional staff. From the public areas with their beautiful art to our guest room we encountered nothing but sheer perfection and a wonderfully comfortable ambiance. The natural and architectural beauty of the Inn, town of Woodstock and surrounding country side further enhanced our first time visit. Although we had reservations at many of the recommended local restaurants we returned every night to the tavern for dinner. No need to leave the INN at night when the food and service were so consistently good. And the 4 PM coffee and cookies tradition served in the beautiful solarium every day was a wonderful surprise and treat. The amazing fitness center must also be acknowledged.

Definitely looking forward to a return visit with my children next time.

Thank you for visiting us, and for your very complimentary review! Like you, we’re happy to be able to work in the midst of all this beautiful artwork and in such inspiring surroundings! We’re so happy that you enjoyed Richardson’s Tavern enough to return night after night, and hope you’ll be back for future visits during all four seasons; our farm-driven menus change frequently and our chefs love to make the most of what each season offers! Just let us know when you’re planning to return, and we’ll make every effort to reserve you the same room you enjoyed so much on this visit- or maybe connecting rooms on the third floor, if you’re traveling with the whole family!
Yours truly- Rick Reno

The hotel is centrally located in Woodstock, a gorgeous town in Vermont. It is very posh - in fact, a bit too posh. We felt too scruffy to eat in the hotel restaurants.
The hotel does have an indoor pool, but what we hadn't realised is that the pool is 1.6 miles away. They do offer a free shuttle to get you there, but it is extra hassle. We used the outdoor pool, though it was absolutely freezing.
You get free entry to Billings Farm museum with your hotel stay and we spent and enjoyable few hours there.

Room Tip: Top floor.

Thank you for including Woodstock and The Woodstock Inn in your trip to The States, and for your feedback. We’re proud of our association with The Woodstock Foundation and Billings Farm & Museum; it does provide an enjoyable and enlightening glimpse of the tradition of stewardship and our agricultural roots! We certainly don’t intend to make our guests feel “too scruffy” for our restaurants, and will discuss your concerns with our leadership team. We hope your next visit to New England will include a return to Woodstock, and we look forward to welcoming you again!
Cheers- Rick Reno

We stayed at the Inn for 1 night and were not disappointed. The hotel is spotless, impeccably groomed, and the staff is welcoming and personable. The Inn offers a wide variety of facilities from a spa to sporting activities and provides shuttle services to some local attractions. Breakfasts were nice though we were less impressed with dinner in the acclaimed Red Rooster. Perhaps the Tavern would have been a better choice. The town itself is a step back into a colonial past. The buildings are old, the churches impressive and there is even a General Store and Ice Cream parlor right out of olden times. The natural beauty of the area adds to the overall experience. The Inn is a definite stop while in the area.

Room Tip: Stayed in the Tavern wing which was beautifully located and quiet.

We spent three nights here last week...wanted to stay longer. We ate dinner at the restaurant and the Tavern...both were excellent with locally sourced food that was delicious. Breakfast was a treat as well. The spa was wonderfully relaxing. We had a couple's massage that worked out all the stress you carry in your back and neck. Eighty minutes was not enough! The workout facility was great as were the tennis courts and racquetball court. We enjoyed the outdoor pool and the service that was provided there was also excellent. The staff is friendly, accommodating and professional. We are looking forward to our next visit!

Thank you for returning for a second visit to The Woodstock Inn, and for sharing your impressions! It’s especially nice to hear from guests who are impressed by our staff’s friendliness and professionalism. They’re our greatest asset, they work very hard to make your stays memorable, and they really do appreciate the positive feedback; so thank you on behalf of all of them! We’re so happy that you enjoyed our farm-to-table cuisine as well as The Spa! When planning your next visit, I’d suggest you call our reservation specialists and ask them about our Kitchen Garden Packages and Spa Packages. If eighty minutes is not enough, you should consider our Seasonal Signature Treatments! Thanks again, and we look forward to welcoming you to Woodstock again soon!
All the best,
Rick Reno

My husband and I and our two teenagers stayed for three nights at the end of June. The Inn is very nice, and the town of Woodstock is quiet and charming, Our stay included breakfast, which was a plentiful buffet in the Red Rooster restaurant. The afternoon cookies, coffee and hot chocolate were appreciated too. We did use the outdoor pool one day, which was nice.

While all the staff were friendly and helpful and our room was very clean and comfortable, I never felt a real warmth or coziness to the Inn. It's in a very pretty setting in a lovely town, but somehow it lacked intimacy.

Room Tip: Be specific when asking about rooms. Our room, #256, was in the " spa wing" and was quiet...

Thank you for including The Woodstock Inn in your summer vacation plans, and for sharing your impressions. We’re happy that you enjoyed your guest rooms, the breakfast buffet, and our Woodstock Inn Style afternoon “tea.” We pride ourselves on our accommodating and welcoming staff, and while we’re glad you found us helpful, we’re sorry that we missed the “coziness” and “intimacy” you were hoping for. We hope to see you again soon, and will work hard to make a better impression!

I was blown away by the way that the hotel bent over backwards to make our stay a memorable and enjoyable time. The consierge called me 2 times before my arrival to see if there was anything they could do to help with planning our stay. They helped with the celebration of my husbands 50th. The bartender at the REd Rooster informed us of the wonderful restaurants in the hotel and some in the area we may want to try, which we did and 2 thumbs up! When you pull up to the Inn they have many brand new bicycles, which are complimentary to use and they give you a map with a scenic route to go on,,under covered bridges, past farms, and by the gorge ..the best! Went to relax at the outdoor salt water pool afterwards and they had plenty of lounges and towels plus we were offered frozen face towels with a lavendar scent to cool off!Heavenly! Then an hour later, came by with complimentary coconut water to drink. They also had poolside food and drink service. Next night we enjoyed the movies that they suggested in the village hall and ping pong down on the lower level of hotel. They had a beautiful sitting room on the lobby level where they had the daily newspapers, coffee and tea plus homemade cookies!!!! We took a ride to the athelic center and it was clean with great equiptment and courts plus free lessons in yoga, bootcamp etc. We were having such a good time with all the free services...we didnt even get time to go the the new and luxurious spa. THat will have to be next time!!!! THe walls could use some more insulation since you can hear when people are in the hall, but that's what I expect from an an older building with loads of charachter and beautiful vistas.

Thank you so much for visiting, and for the very complimentary review. We’re glad we were able to help make your husband’s birthday memorable, and hope you won’t wait a whole year before returning!
It sounds like you made the most of our facilities as well as everything the area has to offer (you did have some maple popcorn at the movies, didn’t you?!?), and we just hope that on your next visit you’ll plan some time for a morning or afternoon at The Spa… we’ll make a note to remind you when you call to reserve!
Thanks again, Rick Reno

Last Friday I spent my first night at the world famous Woodstock Inn. From the time I was greeted
Warmly by the front desk and was swept away by the beautiful oil paintings by long time general manager of the Inn Arthur Wilder to the delicious Red Roister cuisine I knew I would have to return,
And soon. The Woodstock inn is one of the rare breed of grand dame Inns that are not as prevalent as they once were in the U.S. My room was gorgeous, huge, beautifully appointed with a most comfortable bed. I chose the vegetable pot au feu and a garden salad and glass of red wine
For dinner. I arrived late, not dining Until 9 pm and they didn't think a thing Of it. The breakfast was extraordinary, either a very extensive buffet or ordering off the menu which I prefer but can under stand a family wanted the latter. The grounds this time of year are magnificent which great concentrations on the flowers.the one thing I thought rather exceptional was the balance between older couples and young families. It made me very happy to see that balance. The history of the billings Rockefeller family is fascinating and again, the paintings by Arthur wilder are warming in
The CT Impressionism style.
The Woodstock Inn is a great jumping off point to Calvin Coolidges home as well as Simon Pearce s headquarters in Quechee as well as the Billings Farm.

Terrific gift shop filled with Simon Pearce glass and Vermont pottery. Cannot wait to return. Even the front desk operator came out of her office to say goodbye and to say she hoped i would return. Deborah Quirk Tesuque New Mexico

Room Tip: I enjoyed the second floor near to an elevator but would ask for a room with a view

Thank you for visiting us here in Woodstock, and for the gracious review! We are thrilled that you enjoyed our facilities and dining options, the balance between traditional and contemporary, so many activities in the area, and of course our warm welcome!
We can’t wait to welcome you to Woodstock again soon, so you can experience for yourself the beauty of the area in the other three seasons… as lovely as our summers are, there’s something really special about curling up in front of the roaring fire with a good book on a cold night!
Very truly yours, Rick Reno
